I often feel that way too! Some people sometimes wonder why I love her so much because she doesn't have an extraordinary voice but I find her voice quite special and unique, the way she sings adds a lot of swag to a song.

with this album, the lyrics and attitude definitely is a big part of it. But like Talk That Talk, the song, for example sounds generic to me.

Gave a listen to her new album on youtube. Very disappointed. I went in expecting something akin to We Found Love. Unfortunately, there was nothing even similar to it. Instead we got the same old from Rihanna. Melodies are kinda tired, beats are boring and lyrics are just awful. I mean, we get it, you like sex and want to talk about sex, but can she at least get writers who can write clever or cheeky lyrics? It's all so banal and vulgar.

That was the complete opposite for me , I remember thinking "Fortunately it's not similar to WFL" (although I like the song, the video probably helped because I didn't like it at first). I'm SO sick of everyone doing electro/eurodance, so when I heard WFL I had a bad feeling about TTT.


Overall I think the album is good, not outstanding but not bad. I do agree the lyrics are pretty lame.
Some tracks are very good though, I'm addicted to "Talk That Talk" (ft Jay-Z) , probably my favourite. Then I love "Roc Me Out", "Birthday Cake" (though it's very frustrating because it's so short!), "We Found Love", "You Da One". I also like "Drunk on Love" (but then I loved the XX's song).

The most awful goes to "Where Have You Been". Just ewww, techno crap. As for the rest of the songs, meh. Especially the slow-paced ones, it's not what she does best.

I completely agree. I got to like WFL only thanks to the video and being EXTREMELY sick of everyone doing electro/eurodance, was kind of relieved when I heard the rest of the album. Of course except "Where Have You Been"...
