Rihanna makes chart history with Eminem hit

Rihanna has joined The Beatles and Elvis Presley as one of just three acts to top the UK singles chart seven times over seven years.

The singer has stormed into the number one spot, as the featured artist on rap star Eminem's new track The Monster.

The pair held off a challenge from boyband One Direction, who were tipped to have their fourth number one with Story Of My Life.

The Monster is Eminem's first number one hit since 2006.

A previous collaboration with Rihanna, Love the Way You Lie, made it to number two in the UK charts in 2010.

The track is taken from his latest album Marshall Mathers LP 2, which also features this month's top 10 hits Berzerk and Rap God. It will be released on 5 November.

New Zealand singer Lorde, whose track Royals debuted at number one last week, fell one place to number two.

Fat Boy Slim's Eat Sleep Rave Repeat entered the chart at number three, giving the DJ his first top 10 hit in 12 years.

Former number one Counting Stars, by OneRepublic, rounds off the top five.

In the albums chart, Arcade Fire's fourth album Reflektor knocked Katy Perry's Prism off the top spot, outselling the US singer by nearly two to one over the past week, according to the Official Charts Company.

James Blunt's Moon Landing is at three, while Lorde's album Pure Heroine debuts at four.

James Blake enjoyed the fruits of his Mercury Prize success, with his album Overgrown soaring up the charts to number 23, having been previously outside the top 200.

There was also a re-entry into the top 40 for Lou Reed's album Transformer following the singer's death last weekend.

She'd look good in anything! Rihanna reveals underboob in gothic punk shoot as she is daubed in make-up for German magazine

It's becoming clear Rihanna would look good in pretty much anything.

In her latest fashion shoot, for biannual Berlin-based fashion magazine 032c, the Barbadian beauty rocks everything from punk to glam goth in an arty black and white shoot.

With make-up smeared on her face and a cigarette hanging from her lips, the pop star shows her signature blend of sexy and edgy as she pouts away.

The 25-year-old, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, keeps her eyes closed for much of the shoot as she puffs smoke and grimaces away.

In one shot make-up artist Yadim has painted black glossy make-up glimmering over her eyes, with the same shade smeared over her lips.

Another shows her in a ripped vintage Clash T-shirt, worn over suspenders. Leaning forward she flashes her underboob as she grimaces and pulls at her jacket.

Her hair, styled by Ursula Stephen, is worn cropped short at the front, a long ratty ponytail at the back.

Another shot shows Rihanna shows off her tiny figure as she leans forward in a Miu Miu dress, accessorised with Marc Jacobs fishnet gloves by the star's go-to stylist Mel Ottenberg.

In the images, shot by Dutch photographer Inez & Vinoodh for the magazine, it's clear Rihanna is enjoying playing the rock star.

And while she has her own fashion line on sale at British store River Island, she is clad in pure designer ware for the shoot.

It's not just her fashion rage that is keeping her busy.

Rihanna has also just announced a new charity range with make-up giant Mac, tweeting on Tuesday pictures of lipsticks decorated with her signature.

'We really worked to make this one of a kind for VivaGlam, right down to the packaging, which has never been done!' she enthused. 'So shoutout to @MACcosmetics and #ViViaGlam for going all the way with this!!'

And just this week Rihanna launched her latest scent, Rogue.

Getting back to her day job, has also had time to make chart history in the UK, joining The Beatles and Elvis Presley as one of just three acts to top the UK singles chart seven times over seven years.

And she is heavily promoting the latest single, What Now, from her Unapologetic album.
