i like the "fake" aspect, i mean shes not aiming for natural. she likes going for punk inspired looks with the extreme unnatural hair colors & styles...

i remember back when she looked like a beyonce clone w the long blonde hair and i am SO glad she did the drastic haircut back in '08 because frankly i think it made her career.

she would have drowned in the sea of clones and now shes an icon

^^ same here, but on the other hand it was to be expected, the song's called "S&M" and it's Rihanna, nothing new here indeed. But she looks too ridiculous in the passage with the big hair and the crown.

My problem with this MV is, given that the song is called S&M you'd expect more from it. People love to claim at how fearless and daring Rihanna is and yet she fails to deliver a video that is accompanied by an extremely sexual song.

Most of the video is childs play compared to what Justify My Love or Erotica was.

Rihanna could have done better; which is my problem with her, she could always do better but never does.

I actually love that the video took a more playful approach. It's still plenty racy- being too overt isn't always the best option (ie- Not Myself Tonight by Christina Aguilera).

Anyways, I like the video- its definitely the best from this Era. Her peak so far has been the Rated R Era in terms of videos. The only one that I didn't care for was Te Amo- though I enjoy the song. B)

Even though I think the song sucks, she's young and this won't be her last album/video. There's plenty of time to get to the "justify my love" level. Madonna took five albums to do it. Once RiRi goes too over the top sexual, where is there left to go?
