Rihanna

Apologies for the string of comments, but the more I listen to Unapologetic, the more it solidifies itself as my favorite of her albums. I suggest everyone listen to it again -- and again, until they agree  Truly, though, it makes me wonder why I ever liked her before this great album came out, because the rest of her stuff sounds weak by comparison. (Except for Disturbia, since I would never contradict myself and it truly was a standout single, along with Only Girl. -_-)

Really? I can't stand "Disturbia".

I think her new album is one of her best. I love "Jump" but the beat ruins everything! Never forgive her this ^_^
Also "Pour it up" is my thing!

Rihanna keeps it chic while heading out for her Unapologetic album release celebration at Best Buy on Tuesday (November 20) in New York City. (the outfit is by Damir Doma)

Love the overhype :heart:... I got Diamonds the other day, because I couldn't resist. I loved Loud but couldn't get into Talk that Talk so I just gave it a rest. I'll get the rest of Unapologetic today then and report back!

And psst. What's my name is her best song. One word: Drake.

^I've been listening to What's My Name everyday in the past three weeks!
I just never really paid attention to this song for some reason, the rhythm is so good.

From TTT I love Talk That Talk, Cockiness and Where Have You Been (especially after the video :meow:). I only started loving Rihanna in the end of 2011, but because of her style and attitude. The songs I like, I like a lot, but I could never choose an album because it's like 3 songs from Loud (well we can say I started liking her songs during this album), 3 from TTT and probably 3 from Unapologetic - but I still need to listen to it! Diamonds is quite nice. I'm always hoping I'll love more songs, because I really like her!

Hahah, I'm glad the overhype met your expectations.

Definitely one of her best live performances, in my opinion. She not only sang every phrase, every word, but did it beautifully and without looking like she's out of breath. I also really liked the production, the lights, the lace dress. The rain is a bit silly, but I can't say I mind these effects when it comes to pop singers...:heart:

ok, i listened her album while making my work-out.

just one question: why she have to make songs like Pour It Up or Phresh Off The Runway?
her voice does not sound good in those kind of songs and it sounds like she is try hard to be cool...and those lyrics are just bad bad bad...but when does her songs have good lyrics?

anyway, there were some quite good ones too. Like Nobody´s bussiness which was the best song from the album! also Diamonds is good, Stay sounds nice, Lost In Paradise, Love Without Tragedy/Mother Mary is one of my favourites.

she should make one album in two years, so there would be more quality songs because usually her albums sounds like they did them in hurry.

I was looking for that performance so thanks for the video.
And for the rain, i don't know if it's the main reason but she's a bit sick and had to push back her appearance/performance at the french show Le Grand Journal today.

^She was already sick before the performance, wasn't she? I think I saw that on Twitter.
I hope her performance on Le Grand Journal will be postponed, I heard maybe sunday but there's no confirmation yet I guess.

Yeah. I read on Twitter that she might perform on Le Grand Journal the 11rd december but i'm not sure.

Have had her album on repeat while doing mundane stuff over the last few days. Only fully dived into Diamonds (of course ), Paradise and Nobody's Business. The latter is just wow.. funny feeling listening to that song, it's so awkward, so lighthearted you can wake up to that, take a shower, walk several blocks dancing in your head, all while pondering about existential stuff like 'what makes women attached her abuser' 'is it because everyone praises her but he doesn't' 'does she remember' 'can the mind erase that?'.

Overall, nice album to have fun to. I only dislike the David Guetta song, that's a little too much for me.

That song really creates some cognitive dissonance. On an album full of reflective songs (aside from like, Fresh Off the Runway -- which is brash and challenging and not really happy), Nobody's Business marks the only time she sounds kind of glad. It's a celebration of her relationship and the mood is infectious, but the cause is so unsettling. I was so baffled by the questions you brought up that I had to rewatch this interview, where she discusses the reasons she went back to him soon after the incident... I would venture to guess that she seeks validation from a misogynist, but I hate that clinical tone. The whole debacle is outlined better in her own words :ninja:

^ thanks for that, just watched the whole thing!, she definitely sees two different people, and has big psychological issues to work through, it's sad it's so out there.. the influence she has is definitely a burden in that state but the empowerment, which is supported right down to her label (approving what the song campaigns for), is just.. I don't know, it sells anyway, and it's got some of us dancing!, which is what matters to them. They can always capitalise some more if she's beaten to death.. a myth is born and all that.

He made two songs actually.

"it ain't nobody's business"...
