I loved him in My Own Private Idaho, he was amazing in it. The Running on Empty, he stole the show.
He was a really good actor,shame he had this thousands of fans who only sort of liked him cause he was hot, I believe he hated that. However, I think he finally made it and was going to be in Interview with the Vampire...that was such a shame.
I really love him and he was especial, his ideology, his music, films. Plus, his biography is terrible, i JUST can't respect those damn parents he had.

I love River Phoenix, he was so amazing in his films. Stand By Me is one of my all-time favourites.

I also really liked Running On Empty, Dogfight, Explorers and My Own Private Idaho. He was a beautiful person and actor.

^ Yes! I was discussing that about a month back, he was beautiful, very distinctive features and amazing bone structure. Joaquin & Rain are almost one in the same person imo.

That first picture faust posted is my all-time favorite picture of him. !!! I miss River.

I just got the Criterion edition of "My Own Private Idaho" yesterday. What a wonderful movie!! River was fantastic as usual...Keanu was great too. It came with a book that had interviews with River, Keanu, and the director. River was telling this one story about filming the nude scenes. Apparently Keanu was filming a nude scene and River said to him something like, "All your fangirls will be freeze-framing this part of the movie". LOL, Keanu got really self-conscious and the director was furious with River for a week. LOLOLOLOLOL!!

I've watched most of his movies...I think he gave his best performance in MOPI, but I liked "Running On Empty" better. Oh, and who can forget "Stand By Me"! I love that movie; I had friends like that when I was 12. And his 10 minute part in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" was unforgettable. I always get a little sad when I watch his movies because I think of what a damn great adult actor he would've been today.

........ It isn't even near October 31st, yet I keep thinking about what im going to do for him this year....
Last year I was at the Viper Room for a little while, left a simple note and some flowers.
But this year I want to do something more for him, just dont know what. But I do know I will be staying all night long talking to the other River friends that stop by to pay their respects That should be interesting....

I think there's a big resemblance between him and his momma Heart ! Same nose and bone structure !! And Rain's eyes remind me alot of River's.

^^ :/ There was a small group of 5 or 6 when I got there... but I talked later with one of the girls that stayed there most of the night, she said met some more fans later.... but it was kinda sad how not many people showed up...

It's already the 24th here in Australia, but yesterday I felt sad thinking about it. It was so weird, because by chance yesterday at assembly there was a speech about drugs and this nurse was telling all of the terrible things she has seen happen from them - deaths, injuries, depression and such.
