The thing about the internet is that you don't get the other person's "tone." My tone is actually playful and not full of hatred. I'm sorry that you're perceiving it incorrectly and taking it so personally.
I mean, that is obviously a joke about you being Bebe. Jeez. However, you do go on and on about her, promoting her album to the point of nausea. Actually, it wouldn't be that big of a surprise if you were Bebe, since she used to post as a fan of herself on a groupie board about the time her book came out. The mods totally busted her using several different pseudonyms from the same IP, which happened to be where Bebe was living at the time.

I think that story is an urban legend- not real. I've heard it before and I don't believe it. It was a detractor setting her up. I've had more people tell me that than what you are trying to say.
Bebe's book came out eons ago so I don't care.

I promote her beauty and talent the same way some of the people on here are do say Sabel or Pam. Many of the girls get same worship. I just happen to covet Bebe. She is my fave. Well Cyrinda is still my favorite but she is gone.

I fully admit I am over the top in love with her and her style. I think her record is going to get a lot of attention as well.

No. Gotta disagree with you there. What has she done to earn "legend" status? Or is she a legend because of whom she has done?

That is stupid. Bebe has the magic touch. She is magic and she even passed that onto her daughter.
They have been calling her legendary and a legendary beauty for a very long time. She seems to have outlasted the men in her life. I like to refer to her as a celebrated lover.
She made them all look so much more glamorous when she was on their arm.
Some of the greats- Bebe being one of the Top 5- had that appeal and there will never be woman like that again.

No she is not- she is BEBE! Anita is Anita and in her day was a force to be reckoned with. Since you talk about Bebe's book, she has often been quoted as saying she worshipped Anita and Marianne as a girl in Virginia.

All these comparisons make no sense. Each of the greats has their own look, their own story and their own history.

I just read a recent interview with Anita and she is on her third hip replacement- poor woman. But she is almost 70 years old!

I think you can google it- from some UK newspaper.

This isn't a contest. One minute you are drudging Bebe's face thru the mud and the next you are saying she isn't so and so.

i found this picture in flickr (barney's angels account). it says:

This picture is in Caroline Coon's 1988: The New Wave Punk Rock Explosion book page 78. They were at the Rainbow and The Clash was on stage. It doesn't state in the book that it's Ian and Annik in the audience but I'm pretty sure it is!

so you see, i'm not sure if it is really ian and annik, but here's the picture:

Those were actually the only ones I could find too...there aren´t many, unfortunately...

In the last one I can´t really spot Ian...is it the guy in the centre??

Anyway, it's a shame...I really wanted to know how she looked like back in the day.

it's too hard to find pictures of her - even pictures of deborah curtis is hard to find. but you're right, it's a shame - i'd love to see pictures of annik - probably because of the movie control, i always picture annik as a very beautiful girl. and if you look in those pictures, she doesn't look that beautiful. so i'm very curious to see her when she was young. but anyway, you're very welcome!

Just finished reading I'm With The Band and wow what a great bio. She talked about people that I've read about in other bio's so it makes reading about the whole rock scene even more interesting.

I do think though that she held back quite a bit towards the end (just before she met Michael). I wanted to read more about her relationship with Jimmy and more on the new set of groupies like Sable and Lori.

Everyone who loves this thread should read her book. I've ordered her other book at the library. Can't wait for it to arrive.

i love that book too! "i'm with the band" is a must read, because the book is great. actually, everything that is related to miss pam is great!
