If you don't like rock n' roll you shouldn't wear rock n' roll clothes. It's kinda embarrassing.

Should you wear polo shirts and golf shoes?

Ppl usually dress to reflect their tastes. What's embarrassing to you is awesome to someone else.

Personally, I like when ppl dress in something I can't stand. I feel better by comparison. Evil, yes.

I loove rock n' roll. and I think it's embarrassing that it's very "modern and cool" to wear rock n' roll clothes. And if you think you are modern by wearing a judas priest t-shirt and you have no f*cking idea who judas priest is, that's embarrassing! when people dress in rock n' roll clothes only because it's the latest "fashion" ,that is wrong. And not everybody have a tast but follow the latest trends and what's cool, just to fit in or something, that's embarrassing too.

I agree that it is fake when people dress a certain way only because it is the "cool" way or is in style, when in fact they do not really know where the style originates from or do not care for it in any way. :innocent:

However, I have personally gotten into this style lately and while I appreciate the roots, I am no expert in it and do not pretend to be. I love rock 'n' roll, but I do not know a million bands and do not religiously follow the terminology, symbols, whatever else. Does that make me a fake?

I am inspired by this look, and I do not think that that is "embarassing."

The rock and roll "look" has been co-opted, re-packaged and re-marketed since it was first identified. Rock and roll, as a signifier, has been mainstream for quite some time now.

Rock and roll attitude lives through it all and re-manifests itself in various ways.

Re-invent and rock on! :mowhawk:

I don't think someone needs a phd in rock history to wear a shirt. Who cares? Some ppl just want to look good. Those people will be on to something new next year anyway. Or maybe they'll start listening to Judas Priest out of curiosity and JP will have new fans.

And like Tangerine said : reinvent and rock on.
