Rooney Mara

Thanks kobro and kissmesweet.:flower: But knowing Anna, she'll probably choose the generic one on the other side of her. :(

Rooney Mara Will Cover US Vogue November

We’ve heard it from two very reliable little birdies that Rooney Mara will cover Vogue‘s November issue. Her cover is obviously timed to her breakout star-making turn as Lisbeth Salander in the hotly anticipated US version of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, out December 21. But if you were looking for more evidence that Mara was in with Vogue, look no further than the front row at Rodarte‘s spring show, where Mara, with her black close cropped Lisbeth-hair, sat next to Anna Wintour.

We’re excited about this cover because Rooney Mara is an exciting fresh face. She completely won us over as Erica Albright in The Social Network, when she told Jesse Eisenberg’s Mark Zuckerberg “You are going to go through life thinking that girls don’t like you because you’re a nerd. And I want you to know from the bottom of my heart that that won’t be true. It’ll be because you’re an *******.” So satisfying! (I could watch that scene over and over.) She also starred in Diane von Furstenberg’s daughter’s new film Tanner Hall, so you know, there’s another tenuous fashion connection.

I knew a cover would be inevitable, but so soon? I mean, she hasn't really proved herself yet as an actress. It just feels so sudden. Usually it's after the breakthrough.

Anyway, here's the new trailer:

i'm also finding it strange she's getting her Vogue cover so soon. must be Fincher connection, still weird...

anyhow, she looks fierce in that trailer and it looks like she did a great job. cute swedish accent,i guess. :D

Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig cover Empire magazine

Our Nev Pierce interviewed all those involved and visited the set to bring you all the latest on the film, but here’s just a taster of what Fincher had to say about Salander herself.

“There were discussions early on where people were like, ‘She’s a superhero!’ And you go, ‘No, she’s not. Superheroes live in a world of good and evil, and she’s far more complex than a superhero. She’s been compromised. She’s been subjugated. She’s been marginalised. She’s been swept into the gutter and she’s had a part in it. She dresses like trash because she’s someone who has been betraued and hurt so badly, by forces beyond her control, that she’s just decided to be refuse. She can sit anywhere she wants on the bus, because nobody wants to deal with her.”

I don't think it's too soon...she's headlining a major franchise that is destined to make $100+ million. Plus, she's never submitted to a full profile...so, it's a big get for Conde Nast.

I also don't think it's too soon. She's going to be huge. I prefer to see her than all other stars all over again. C'mon, how many times I have to look @ Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet or Gisele Bundchen? They even don't say anything special in the interviews anymore.

So, Rooney Mara in US Vogue - thumbs up!

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is going to be Christmas blockbuster and GOOD. Deserves it!

I don't think it's too soon for a Vogue cover, she's heading up what could possibly become a major film franchise and will certainly end up one of the most talked about films of the season with possible awards recognition. Lets be honest, if they can give one to Blake Lively anything is possible. But make no mistake, she's still an up-and-comer, one (potential) hit and 'moment' in The Social Network does not a movie star make.

^that´s what imo it´s too soon for a Vogue cover, she´s not well known and doesn´t have any major roles in her credits... usually Vogue goes for bigger stars.

Whether you feel it's too soon or not, you have to hand it to her people, they're playing the game brilliantly, a really strong way to head into awards season too.

Well it was also too soon for them to do remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo films, so at least she's consistent at something.

^well, they´re not remaking a film but making their own adaptation of a best seller... and it seems visually different enough (imo better) than the swedish movie so why not?

I see it as more of an adaptation than a remake. Technically, they are not remaking the films. They are adapting the novel. :p

The second and third Swedish films were absolutely terrible. Felt like Lifetime movies.
