Half Nelson star Ryan Gosling has been enjoying the single life since his late-summer breakup and failed reconciliation with former co-star and longtime love Rachel McAdams, an insider tells LifeandStylemag.com.
And why wouldn’t he when girls have been throwing themselves at him?
"Ryan says even he is stunned by the number of women who have blatantly come on to him or tried to ask him out,” the insider says. “On the one hand, he says he loves the attention, but on the other, he doesn’t really have anything kind to say about women in LA. He keeps insisting he doesn't want to be with a bimbo, even if it's just for a one-night stand.”
Maybe that’s why he’s trying his luck with Chicago women instead. Just last week he hit RiNo nightclub in the Windy City and chatted up several girls in his booth until the place closed at 4 a.m.
“Ryan says that in a perfect world, he'd date someone who isn't in show business,” the insider says. “He has this itch to be more serious, thoughtful and artistic than any of his peers and that feeds into a lot of his decisions about women and relationships.”

Good for Ryan for getting a SAG nom and now an Oscar nom. He was electrifying in Half Nelson...I'm convinced we're watching glimmers of a legend in the making here.
We haven't seen him in a comedy since...well...Breaker High (oh gosh, did anyone else watch that?). I remember him being so hilarious. He had great comedic timing, I never even IMAGINED him being serious.

Has anyone seen in The Believer - also an amazing performance.

What's unfortunate is that he'll never win. I mean he is so unbelievably talented, but he has NO CHANCE. The academy is just a bunch of cowards who only want to acknowledge cinema that is bland and unimaginative.

^ True they award 'Hollywood' not cinema. Its a shame, still at least they acknowledged him enough to nominate him, its a start at least.

It's so true...they always go with the same safe boring actors, they completely overlooked Maggie Gyllenhaal, so sad...but I'm so glad he's been nominatedat least...he won't win but i don't think he'll mind too much!!


Is it wrong that i think he looks so hot with brown eyes...much more attractive than the blue eyes...and i usually go for blue eyed boys!!
