lucky you, was he even more beautiful up close?

So many guys have the wrong idea about wearing stuff like this, they think it will hurt their 'manliness' when in fact it makes them even more attractive to be able to show confidence in something that isn't the norm.

Very much so. He's not normally my type, but I was absolutely won over. I spend so much time round actors at work that I don't really get bothered by them, so when one comes along who make an impression, I remember them. And in the creepiest thing I might ever type in a public forum....he smelt really nice too!

Not to outcreep you here, but he does look like he smells really nice! :brows::lol:

Speaking of encounters, my friend saw him yesterday at a coffee shop in LA, and he just told me this morning (twihard-esque fan over here!), he said 'I saw that actor that you like', and I'm like 'who? Louis Garrel? Ryan Gosling?', 'yeah the guy from the Notebook, right? he was drinking coffee on a table in front of me'.... what's annoying is that he called him the guy from The Notebook , he's the guy from The Believer/Half Nelson/BV!

BTW, never comment here, so belated :heart:s for his look at Cannes.

Thanks girls for your little anecdotes :flower:.
Now that he's back in LA, I hope we'll get new candids soon. Even though I could stare at the Cannes pics for days.

Yes thank you so much for the anecdotes, I have heard from people who have had the pleasure of meeting him that he is extremly lovely.

I love his fashion sense as well, so nice that he takes risks in terms of the red capret, kind of like Robert Downey Jr, he has a certain flair and a sense of humor about it all, he does not seem to be taking himself too seriously.

The 30-year-old actor caught a flight out of town after spending the past few days at the Cannes Film Festival.

On Sunday, Ryan attended the Palme d’Or Winners Photocall, where he shared a kiss with his Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn on the red carpet.

Ryan will next be working on the crime and family drama The Place Beyond the Pines.

Filming for the project, which also stars Bradley Cooper, begins this summer in Schenectady, NY.

AP Interview: Ryan Gosling’s Silent ‘Drive’

Ryan and director Nicolas Winding Refn talked to Associated Press during the Cannes Film Festival promotion of “Drive“.
Ryan Gosling talks about violent action film ‘Drive,’ in which he plays a getaway driver who doesn’t have much to say. (May 25)

Ryan Gosling Interview For ‘Drive’

This film matches European art house cinema with the violent, visceral, adrenaline rush of American cinema and action pictures. As an actor how do you see that vision of putting these two types of cinema together?

Ryan Gosling: First off I can’t believe that they let us do it (laughs). This whole project was charmed in some way, for instance one of the producers, Marc Platt, a year earlier he said to me “I’m never going to send you a script you won’t want to do, when I send you something I promise you’re gonna want to do it.” Then a year later he sent me ‘Drive,’ the second I finished reading the script I called him and said he was right. He gave me this opportunity, which I’ve never had before, where he said “you can have any director you want.” It was clear to me that Nicolas….he’s one of my favourite film makers, there’s nobody like him, this is such a well explored genre that it is hard to believe that you have anything to contribute to it. I just knew Nicolas wouldn’t let himself mimic anybody, he has to be unique, it’s not in his DNA to mimic anyone. It had to be him, I knew if we could get him on board we would have a shot at making something unique.
