Ryan Gosling

They have confirmed The Ides of March as the opening film in Venice just this morning. I think we all knew it was going to happen but it's nice to have it confirmed. I suspect it's the bike more than his look that's doing it for me in those pics. A little off topic but does anyone else miss the days when what characters looked like in a film was a big mystery until the first trailer came out? Nothings sacred any more, kind of ruins the anticipation a little.

*raises hand* TBH, I'm kind of ambivalent because sometimes I like to see pictures when I'm really anticipating a film like "Atonement" a few years ago, and most recently "The Avengers" (though they've been very good keeping that all under wraps; at least I haven't seen anything). On that same note, does anybody miss the days when trailers DIDN'T reveal the whole doggone story and left key elements/twists a secret til you got to the theather?:ninja:

I feel the same about trailers and filming pics. That's why I love Christopher Nolan and his secretive compulsiveness  .
As for Ryan I don't really mind the bleach blonde or the tatoos as long as the film is good. In All good things or Lars and the Real girl, he looked pretty bad but god I love him so much in those films. My only concern is how the bleach blonde will look on the Red Carpet.

The bleach blonde could work on the red carpet, he could totally style it out with the right suit. It's Ryan. At least it's a full bleach not frosted tips or anything awful!

I read so many scripts and visit so many film sets that I have a lot of the joy of cinema or tv sort of taken away from me so I think when there's projects I don't have any link to i get really annoyed when things are soiled ahead of time! :D

I love him in Lars and the Real Girl. He was so adorable, even with his pornstache and chubby face. So cute. Also realized I misspelled theater. Sorry about that.:ninja:

^Could not agree more I love him in LArs and the Real Girl, he so should have been nominsted for an Oscar for that role.

Actually without the tatoos and the awful cameo pants he still looks really good with the bleach blonde.

The blonde hair definitely feels nostalgic if you seen him during his Breaker High/Young Hercules days ! I honestly couldn't take the fake tats seriously but it's still Ryan. I adore him regardless.

It's all about a character not Ryan. He may get stuck with the hair for a while when he has to go do promo if he's still filming (and as I said before, he has enough about him to style it out for the short time he'll have it like that) but this isn't a style choice he's made for him, it's not like he's off shopping dressed like that. :D

but his gorgeousness showed through anyway

^Umm please no, just no. Although Nicholas Cage was a food actor at one point.

“Drive” at Toronto International Film Festival

“Drive” was added to the line-up of the Toronto International Film Festival 2011. Ryan’s other upcoming movie “The Ides of March” is also selected for the festival, which is held from September 8 to 18.

Deadline published the official press release of TIFF 2011. “Drive” is part of the ‘Special Presentations’ and will be the Canadian premiere for the movie while “The Ides of March” is the USA North-America premiere. We are assuming Ryan will attend the festival, we hope he can because he is currently filming “The Place beyond the Pines“.

[Drive at Toronto International Film Festival] Drive Nicolas Winding Refn, USA Canadian Premiere

After a heist intended to pay off Standard’s protection money spins unpredictably out of control, Driver finds himself driving defence for the girl he loves, tailgated by a syndicate of deadly serious criminals (Albert Brooks and Ron Perlman).

The Ides of March George Clooney, USA North American Premiere
