    ok- so...
i cannot believe that there isn't an entire DIY community dedicated to DIY versions of sacai designs...

there are some out there, but very scattered, random, and more crafty than arty...

i have a pile of stuff that i am going to attempt to take apart and sew back together with inserts and different fabrics and trim...a la sacai...

if anyone else has any projects to share, whether it is an idea or a completed project of your own...
this is the place to do it~!

my first attempt was a cashmere cardi + a denim mini skirt...

first- shrank the cardi a bit...

second- cut up the back of the cardi and inserted a section of the mini skirt...

third- trimmed the whole hem with white pleated trim...

fourth- trimmed the hem with an overlay of black lace...

fifth- added a leather triangle at the top of the insert...

    DONE~!

*the sleeves are a bit tight from shrinking though and i am considering adding a grey cashmere insert on the bottom part of the sleeves...

    i love it!
and i want to do more~!

This is so great! It's been so long since I have posted anything here, but it seems like such a huge shame that no one has commented on this.

I've always been tempted to DIY one of the cardigans, but I can never seem to find the right lace insert.

I've come to the conclusion that you really need a dress form to do this sort of thing cause you need to drape on a figure and you cannot drape and pin effectively on yourself...

so- I am now hoping to find a reasonably priced dress form so that I can get all these projects done!

guess we could change the name of this thread to HYBRIDS...
now that there is an official name for the massive movement brought on by the success of sacai...

maybe a mod could change the title?
