Saint Laurent Menswear Resort 2025 Paris

It just all looks like a costume. I just had a look at the website, and you really have to wonder, who this stuff is made for or if it even is meant to be a serious product offering:

Even if I had the money, I'm sure I wouldn't spend 4000€ on this. The button placement, the lapel proportions, the size of the notches - it just feels so dated. Even if you are doing 80s reproductions, there are more refined designs you could copy. This looks like a department store blazer, but made in silk crepe to be "chic". I'm also not sure who would want these comicly large ties and badly cut collars. Everything feels regressiv, not nostalgic - there is no interest in evolutions, just thoughtless nostalgia for the nouveau riche to play dress up in.

I really don't find these too far apart. Just saying.
Well I find them both chic. It's the model that ruins it. These are clothes that look better on a bulky dude with wide shoulders.

That last thing with the hat can burn in hell.

Thirdly, the clothes themselves are still highly derivative of Hedi Slimane, yet executed through a much more basic lens. It's Hedi Slimane lite.
And hedi's last womenswear show for céline was derivative of chanel.

anthony and him mirror each other. hedi's womenswear is as basic as it can be bc 'simplicity is haaard' (read in your best emo voice) and Anthony's menswear is as classic as they come bc idk, classicism is difficult ? if only the first one actually gave us complexity and the other romanticism or rebellion, we could get somewhere new and unexpected.

Watching an interview of Anthony and reading one of Hedi, by God, they're both boring as hell !! Not an ounce of humor or fun between the two of them !! Not a sight of life in sight !! Hedi's more interesting to read but he sounds quite a bit up himself and almost patronizing. It's weird and quite unpleasant. NEXT !

I get it. I like it. It's bland done well. Like bringing homemade vanilla pudding to a dinner party. The normies will eat it and accidentally look more stylish than they deserve to.

Maybe part of his contract was to not make public statements off the cuff and only do written interviews so corporate could review his responses. And Hedi decided to write all his responses in the same voice he used to write the fragrance descriptions.
