Bellettini should really consider moving the Balenciaga bag design director / team to YSL, even Demna succeeded in moving on from the BALENCIAGA logo splattered on every single accessory. It's unbearable to see YSL bags line comprised of Cassandre logos and Y shaped bucket bags. Balenciaga really hit the jackpot with the release of the Rodeo and BelAir bags, Demna also doesn't show these items on the runway but at least he managed to build a vision and a narrative around these. With Vaccarello you really feel he just simply doesn't care about bags...

problem with YSL bags are that they relied to much of a Chanel types of BCBG designs as the designer was consulting to chanel as well for a while before he went to YSL now he is at gucci since last year (i heard he is utter useless and old fashioned )

all brands play with the chanel classic flap idea or the hermes birkin or kelly but ysl line up is like 90 % a Chanel low end version with YSL logo.

its like the rtw woman is one thing and the bags client is the dupe Chanel client

Totally spot on.. everytime I see the shoes I'm like damn this is literally for a woman to step out of the taxi and into the bedroom for the rendevous, its very thin and wobbly heel or like 8cm long front zip in very 80's silhouette or zero straps to secure the foot. Esp I remember there were 3 shows where they edited for the playback video from the live, the model slipping and almost falling coming down the huge marble or stone stairs. Pilati always said the YSL woman is someone who doesn't work.

Let's not forget the SS22 show with models walking down a slippery wet runway with hooker platform 10 inches heels...

for me his RTW woman is very much i dressed up for my social media pics i did the pose and performed........ like an influencer but her real life is not YSL at all its just an preformative look with not much to tell than 30 seconds observation

like new Alaia its instagram wear if your going for sexy but modern look generally understood by the mass

It’s pre season so I won’t take it too seriously. Great shop floor fodder, even if incredibly reductive.

I’m just finding his clinical approach to sex and allure to be really exhausting. Very performative and lacking, where the models scream “dressing up in my mum’s/cool aunt’s clothes”. Still nothing feels embodied, and it’s all so painfully ascetic. Well curated yes, but that’s it. Content for the sake of content.

Yes you are absolutely right, I forgot about that one cause I found the 2 pandemic shows after the latex one (SS21 + FW21) not as formulaic and "broken record" output as the post pandemic. For FW21 I remember a lot of CHANEL inspired tweed suits with fur trimmed miniskirts (...and the beef with Pavloski caused by those)
