Saint Laurent Resort 2023 Paris

lots of product for the stores,
Exactly what it is, 100% commercial, but those are really desirable shoes and bags. Glad to see also some daring marketing tests, like the orange or yellow dresses, which aren't bad.

The real star here is the Cassandre logo…
Great shoes and great velvet pantsuit.
I’m a bit tired of seeing skintight long sleeved column dresses and basic draping on silk jersey in various brands.

But it’s definitely complementary to the SS collection.

It's very commercial, but I'm fine with that since the February, June and September shows offer enough.

I am jealous season after season at the women's universe that AV creates while the menswear is severely lacking and doesn't match.

This is commercial but the lookbook is shot so well and really shows off the items well.

I see a lot of 90's Gucci by Tom Ford, when he was channeling his inner Halston, and I don't mind if we are coming back to this fashion cycle, it suits Saint-Laurent quite well.
Also yes, the lookbook shots are incredibly well-done, I wish it were credited.

I love the Cassandre YSL logo, they should change the house name back to Yves Saint Laurent, is this a hint they will?

Great look book. To the point and effective, and does give me a pang of "oh I need to buy that".

I do think it is a little bit limp because of all the silk jersey and crepe, chiffon and georgette. Could have added in some interesting circular cuts to make the most out of the jersey's drape. But it's resort. It gets the job done.

The shoes are the main character here, their shots are the best in this lookbook. The collection is too merchandise for my taste, but the lookbook helps to bring sophistication into the clothes.

It's fine for a pre-collection because I know he will deliver for his main collection.

These few looks are giving me serious Demna for Balenciaga vibes if you ignore the Cassandre logo… not too sure if it’s a good thing

I mean they're just very basic clothes.

thank God it’s Pre-Fall. on the verge of basic but saved by a few outfits. also, getting repetitive…

It's very chic in a way, but essentially this is all eveningwear, and hence verging on mundane to me. He's designed himself into a corner with these last few collections, no?

Also, what happened to Laetitia Crahay / the jewellery? That was something that really gave the collections a point of difference and some kind of reference to the YSL archives.

The new YSL bag looks like this Celine bag no ?

Can somebody please enlighten me how bags that look like imitation Chanel's and strappy high heel stilettos offered by about any major luxury brand these days can be considered 'strong'? Especially when the demand for such footwear seems to be decreasing with every year, I don't see which of these accessories really qualify as 'must haves' on a broader scale.
