Y'all are complaining and I agree that both his collections and art direction can feel quite gimmicky but it's only going to get worse from the moment he leaves even with a "real" designer in place.

They are already at 12 movies, and 6 more to come plus a documentary on AV. They are legitimate producers.
The good thing is that when AV will be leaving YSL, he’ll not come back to fashion.

If he does, I hope it's in art direction and brand building rather than design. His designs kinda suck, but his shows and campaigns were peak.

He could relaunch his own brand with what he learned from Saint Laurent in terms of Art Direction and brand building.
He could even relaunch it with a minority stake from Artemis.

I honestly thing he is not interested in fashion design anymore, he'll move to cinema ann maybe art directions in between movies.

Emilia Pérez aside, I'm actually impressed by the filmmakers they've chosen to work with and support: Cronenberg, Gaspar Noé, Claire Denis, Jim Jarmusch...Taste!

Really? I think the list is good but I find it quite expected. It’s very « French » after all. Cinema d’auteur, coherent.

What I think is more surprising is that it’s not the expected advertising/movies situation like for example it has been with Chanel or Dior when they are involved in movies.

Btw I wonder if Dior is not going to go into that with JWA being involved in the cinema world. The same for Louis Vuitton as NG has expressed his desire to be involved in a science-fiction movie.

I don't think JWA is that much involved in cinema, but I expect a Luca Quadagnino involvement in the near future, maybe for a runway set, windows or even some twist in the boutiques decor (I do find that Peter Marino everywhere a bit dated).
