Saint Laurent Resort 2024 Paris

I find this aesthetic so exhausting.

Anthony’s YSL is deceptive. At first glance, it’s easy to think it’s glam and chic and severe. When you give it a second or third look, you realize most of it is really kind of clunky and doesn’t possess any timelessness.

He loves to throw some big black sunglasses on his gangly models and expects us all to think “Wow! She’s so COOL!”

I love the collection as always expected from YSL. Personal favourites were the bias cut mini dress (image 8), the plunging top and leather skirt combos (image 22 and 33) and the black backless dress (images 35 and 36). That said, the collection would've benefitted from a lighter approach to the ruched dresses, maybe they should've been pleated instead.

The heels are great but not a lot design going into the clothing, even more so than usual.

He needs to step it up. I'm getting bored with this formula. Take a risk for goodness sake. It will either pay off or not, but at least there is an element of surprise there. This is too restrained.

Love his unapologetic choice of models though.

Not that far off from say Christopher Esber, who started around the same time (brand wise) as Vaccarello. What does work here you know shouldn't be priced the way it is for what you get, and what doesn't just looks cheap in a knock off kind of way.

His idea of chic and timeless is just getting really boring.
