Saint Laurent S/S 2016 Paris

Big yes to the comments pointing out He’s going back to his roots; the nonchalant and more minimalist 90’s Hedi.

This is like the slightly less street/dirty/sl*tty sister of the infamous Fall 2013 girl. The demin is horrid but the juxtaposition of the bright blue against the dark set works well, the fur pieces and long dresses are amazing (I can see how He’s slowly improving his dressmaking skills) and the slouchy tailored ones are pure love. I could have done without the boots and tiaras too but they’re a classic tongue-in-cheek/gimmicky Slimane’s touch.

Paris has been so absurd this season lol. I love Hedi but I can't condone those tiger prints they're so awful.

I've read some comments and I'm still ":ermm:" at the ones saying this is his more mature collection. His more high fashion collection was his first one. This is just in the same vein as the previous ones. And it's more Topshop than ever. It's just BASIC. Beyond basic! I've seen people in the streets wearing the exact same things like many looks from the catwalk. The funny thing is that it was five or six years ago...

This is sad. I never thought his tenure at Saint Laurent was going to be like this. I've had enough. It's not cool anymore. It's just a big joke. And I have such a soft spot for him, but I wish he left the brand and let someone more talented take the reigns of it.

Fashion is in a very stale state. People don't even try. They don't care about it anymore. HOW SAD. And no one is talking about this in articles... I'm feeling mad right now. :furious:

I'm all for tiaras, but I think it says a lot that I'd rather wear a plastic tiara and a garish polyester princess dress than wear Hedi Slimane's "grunge" tiara (lol) and dresses that are Hedi's blatant copies of Primark AW12. As a fashion collection, it *might* be passable as a tribute to 'festival chic'... shame that this looks a lot like festival dressing in 2010, not festival dressing in 2015-2016. Would Kate Moss – still one of the poster girls for this artfully dishevelled, haven't-slept-in-3-days look – even wear any of this right now?

Some of the evening dresses are nice, yes, but conjuring up yet another pretty, bias-cut slip dress isn't really a great feat for Hedi Slimane.

TL;DR – Who actually buys this stuff? Like, really? Someone on the ShowStudio npanel remarked tonight that the collection is for people who "are scared to go to vintage shops." Totally agreed.

all the revenue is coming from the handbags, not the clothes. not hard to see why....

Yes was a rebel for the Haute Couture world. I mean, he was rebel 2 times in his career: the Beatnik collection and the Liberation collection.
And if being a rebel in 2015 means presenting that, what a pity for fashion.

More rebel as a most of Designers.

Galliano’s eponymous Label ,ok , maybe about Gaytten , was not creativ, not rebel. Pretty fashionable ant that's all.
Slimane made Show.
Hermés was so boring, so basic, there were any good bag also and this on Hermés.

I like what Slimane did. 65 pieces sent Slimane on the runway.

That's not true at all. Of course the shoes and bags represent a bigger figure than the clothes (like in most brands), but it had had a 23% growth last year, far above accessories. Saint Laurent is having strong sales in all departments.

LOL at this on a YSL show. What a JOKE.

I love Hedi but I can't. I caaaaaaaaaaaan't with this.

With this look,i'm agree
but this one is absolutely YSL.

the mini skirt denim overalls have got to be one of the biggest f*ck-you's i've ever seen on a runway, it's almost amusing

i don't necessarily see the maturity that's being mentioned in other posts, either. it's definitely better than his last 2 atrocious collections, but it's mostly a literal interpretation of 92-95 courtney love, hardly 'mature' or interesting, once again, bias cut dresses included

When we see those dresses properly tailored on the red carpet we will also be seeing people on the best dressed list. Modern minimalism at it's coolest, and sexiest. This is his best collection to date for the house in my opinion. The obnoxious styling is for show, and to keep people annoyed -- strip it down and this collection is actually quite good.

If this is creative....
Dolce & Gabbana and Armani are more rebel than Slimane if we think that way.
Azzedine Alaia is the only rebel in fashion today.

The clothes are selling. The permanent collection is very successful. His clothes are very basic in a way. The runway stuff is mainly sold during big sales but the clothes are selling.

They have a lot of separates: jeans, t-shirts, printed shirts and great jackets.

I know it's sacrilegious on tFS to laugh at this or to imply anything that dares to suggest that while Alaia's a genius perhaps his height has passed,

but sorry I am.
:lol::lol::lol:

How is he so one-note? I feel like I just stared at the same image 60 times in a row while scrolling through the collection.

Plus I'm pretty sure I wore this exact skirt as a tween, except it was maybe $30 from Hollister and not whatever exorbitant price Hedi charges for his (mostly) cheap fabrications.

D&G are boring, they sell a lot, no doubt about it . Giorgio Armani s/s 2016 is nice, for "good Girls" and as chic causal-street wear for summer. A lot of pieces were boring, repeated in different colours.
Azzedine Alaia , fall 2015 is good but rebel?

Of course jeans, denim mini rocks, oversized Sweater , leather jackets, that will be sell in stores.
Without all this denim pieces could-would be better.
I like Slimane. Many looks are cool.

If you have an elitist mind this is kind of synonymous to "trashy". From the little I was able to see on Periscope, I really liked the cuts and the laissez-allez rebel kind of feeling you get at first.

But, when I came here to watch the collection up close, the whole thing just feels uncomfortable. The lame trashy chic attempt, prom queen fail spirit and weird combos really is not aesthetically appealing. And if I had to push things further, some outfits really border unto vulgarity which by definition is not even sexy and do not really compliment women.

The wearability is there I guess and it is easy to see many it-girls and bloggers identify themselves and find joy into this. However this is kind of the last thing I'd consider on a runway. Literally anybody can do this and at much cheaper prices, so...

I really do not see the purpose of this unless than displaying yet another complete lack of imagination and creativity fashion has been suffering from the last past seasons/years. I've lost count of designers we've seen just throw random stuffs out there because they just didn't know what to do. It's been more and more recurrent.

The tiger jumper was in Pull & Bear for 20€... At this point it wouldn't be weird if mass chains sued luxury brands...

And the Hunter boots... Why paying hundreds if you can get the originals for 100€?

And a friend of mine has the exact same military jacket from Zara...

Couldn't agree more ! The final part is the most exciting thing I've seen in what has been a very disappointing season in Paris so far. I can't stand the obnoxious festival casting? the tiaras and the Courtney Love reference is a too literal . Take it all out and you'll actualy see that he's never been closer to the YSL spirit. At least to Yves Saint Laurent 70s era, his most decadent but also his peak.

^I guess you are focusing on just the final of the show, no? The rest is exactly the same as ever and I'm going to proove it.

^Yeah, I think so too. And the thing is that I adore him. But I just can't cope with this... He's laughing at everyone I think. I want to think that at least...

I was thinking of them as more rebel in mind....
You're talking about a "rebel look".... I mean, the only thing rebel in this is the look because the people who are buying Saint Laurent at full retail price are not rebel.

Yes, Dolce are as boring and commercial as Slimane is. They are selling a lot of clothes to working women.

Alaia is the ultimate rebel (in mind).

I REALLY DON'T WANT TO BELIEVE PEOPLE WHO ARE SAYING THAT THE BIAIS CUT DRESSES AT THE END ARE THE BEST THING IN PARIS THIS SEASON.
I have a huge respect for Hedi but I QUIT. I CAN'T WITH YOU GUYS...:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:
