Sam Worthington is Dan Dare's Pilot of the Future?

Sam Worthington heads to a business meeting while chatting on the phone on a sunny Friday (March 12) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 33-year-old Aussie actor has reportedly signed on to play the lead in the comic book adaptation of Dan Dare: Pilot of the Future.

Pajiba describes Sam’s character as a space adventurer/pilot and the “chief pilot of the Interplanet Space Fleet.” No writer or director is yet on board.

Sam Worthington: ShoWest Male Star Of The Year

Sam Worthington arrives at the ShoWest awards ceremony and accepts the Male Star of the Year Award at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Thursday (March 18).

The 33-year-old Avatar actor also joined director Louis Leterrier to help promote their latest 3-D movie Clash Of The Titans coming out in theaters on April 4.

Other awards recipients include funny-man Zach Galifianiakis for Comedy Star of the Year and Amanda Seyfried as breakthrough female star.
