Lovely campaign.
Live Streaming... The F/W 2025.26 Fashion Shows
The February 2011 edition of Vogue Australia doesn’t just offer up Catherine McNeil’s fifth cover of the magazine. It also represents the return of Myf Shepherd to modelling after a year hiatus to study set design in Sydney. McNeil’s Chic Management stablemate rocketed to international modelling stardom after her debut at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week in May 2008, walking the runways of some of the world's biggest fashion names and booking campaigns including Gucci and Miu Miu, only to put her burgeoning career on ice this time last year. Chic Management reports that the Vogue shoot was Shepherd’s first job back at work. She appears in six images in the massive 30-page New Season Hit List story that was shot by Nicole Bentley and also stars Codie Young, Alice Burdeu, Samantha Harris, Ruby Jean Wilson and Annaleise Smith. Chic reports that Shepherd has also shot a campaign for Myer [possibly the autumn/winter 2011 campaign] in addition to two other local campaigns. “Myf’s back modelling” Chic Management director Kathy Ward told frockwriter. “She’s continuing on with her studies but she’s very excited to be based in Sydney now and modelling for top end magazines and securing some major Australian campaigns as well. She may go back for the [Haute Couture SS11 or FW1112] shows, although there are no plans at this stage. But things happen very quickly, there’s a slight chance she may”.
We won't be seeing any of this at the David Jones Autumn/Winter 2011 runway showcase on February 8 presumably. But here is current season David Jones face and former youth ambassador for the upmarket Australian department store chain, like you have never seen her before. Recalling the modern horror cinematic genre - and perhaps some of the horrors experienced by her ancestors at the hands of European settlers - in the Bound More Than a Madman Is story from the upcoming edition of Karen magazine, the indigenous Australian model is blindfolded and bound to various pieces of furniture. These include a coffee table and an antique wood-and-wicker chair that looks like a sinister film prop from a Victorian lunatic asylum. Shot by Cara Stricker and styled by Bex Sheers, the story is accompanied by a short film (below). Here are a couple of images. Head to Pedestrian to see the remainder. Given that Harris returned from London Fashion Week earlier than expected last year because, according to industry buzz, she was a little intimidated by the big, bad world of international fashion, looks like she's over her shyness. A Terry Richardson shoot surely can't be too far away.

vogue.com.au catches up with the model ahead of the department store’s new-season launch next month.
You turn 21 this July - what’s the plan?
I am going back to the Gold Coast and celebrating with a party inviting all my family and friends.
2010 was a big year for you, wasn’t it?
Yes it was amazing, the best year I have ever had. I keep thinking how I am going to make 2011 bigger… fortunately with my new role with David Jones, it has started off really well.
Joining fellow ambassadors Miranda and Megan must be nice…
It is an honour. David Jones is not only home to so many of my favourite designers but it is a store I admire and have grown up with… to work alongside both Miranda Kerr and Megan Gale - both of whose careers I have respected and aspired to - is something that I am very excited and proud to be a part of.
How do you prep for a big show like DJs?
I increase my gym sessions per week, drink lots of water and always get plenty of sleep so my skin is glowing on the day.
What keeps you sane when you’re on the road?
Calling my mum and my boyfriend Luke. Mum is always a great leveler and I have great confidence in her advice.
Favourite place to be in the world and why?
I hate to say, but I love home so the Gold Coast is my favourite place. I feel most comfortable and relaxed with my family.
Is there a model do you look up to?
Miranda Kerr. She has an incredibly diverse career and my dream is to walk in the Victoria Secret show like her. She is also very professional and a really kind and generous person.
Highlight of your career so far?
Working for David Jones is definitely a highlight, it is like family. I also loved appearing on the cover of Vogue Australia and in the Seafolly campaign.
Which designer do you most enjoy working with?
I can’t wait to work with Alex Perry again, he has such a great sense of humour and his gowns are really beautiful.
Who will you be wearing this season?
Zimmermann - everything, I love Zimmermann. One Teaspoon, for their amazing chunky knits; Cohen et Sabine’s cool chambray pieces and White Suede for ultra femininity.
Key trends for winter?
Anything camel - the colour of the season. And a statement coat, whether it’s a trench, bell shaped, cape or belted, it’s fundamental. Leather trims and refined detail are key.
Any last insider tips for autumn winter?
Invest in some great denim from washed back tones to darker, dressier styles. I have my eye on sass & bide and Ksubi. Experiment with new textures - lace is a huge trend this season and White Suede’s done some lovely, really feminine pieces in pale pink and nude tones. Have fun with accessories. I have my eye on a black felt hat that I wore in the campaign - it is going to be my must-have piece.
