THE rising star of Australian fashion, Samantha Harris, from Tweed, has been announced as David Jones’ newest recruit.
The modelling sensation will join supermodels Miranda Kerr and Megan Gale as the department store’s Ambassador for Young Women’s Fashion.
Miss Harris, a former Tweed River High School student, was discovered in 2004 as part of the Girlfriend Model search and last year cemented her rising status when she became a Vogue Australia cover girl.
David Jones group general manager marketing Brett Riddington said Miss Harris would be a wonderful role model.
“We have no doubt our younger customers will respond extremely well to Samantha’s unique beauty and style, as well as her inspirational attitude,” Mr Riddington said.
“Samantha has caught the attention of the Australian fashion world. Her credentials as a model are growing and excitement over her unique beauty continues all around the country.”
Miss Harris, who was previously the store’s youth ambassador, said she was thrilled with the 12-month contract.
“David Jones has always been a destination for my most loved brands; growing up I dreamed of an opportunity like this, to represent Australia’s best department store is truly an honour.
“I am so excited and grateful for this opportunity, especially to work alongside Miranda and all of my favourite designers such as Ksubi, White Suede, One Teaspoon and Collette by Collette Dinnigan,” Miss Harris said.
