there was an article on her and her mum in todays Qweekend (courier mail) i typed it up..
At 16, Tweed River schoolgirl Samantha Harris, whose stunning looks reflect her Aboriginal and German heritage, is making a splash as a model. And mum Myrna, 46, couldn't be prouder

I used to go in competitions when I was little, and as I got older I started to think about modelling as a career. I like the chance it gives me to go places and to wear really cool clothes. My mum is very supportive of what i want to do. She's taught me to always believe in yourself, that you can do whatever you want. I feel like I can talk to her about anything, and sometimes i'll go to her for advice, but not about clothes. We like very different things! She came with me on modelling assignments in the beginning, when i was a bit nervous. She still comes to some, but I don't really see much of her when I'm working because it's so busy. I think i'm a bit like both Mum and Dad. Me and Mum nag a lot. I'll find one thing to talk about and keep going on and on about it; Mum does that, too. It might be clothes of shoes I want. I'll keep nagging until i get them!

Samantha's always been a girlie girl, not an ounce of tomboy in her. When she was little we couldn't walk past a shop that had shoes or handbags in the window without her wanting to buy something. When she was four she saw a stage at a shopping centre, climbed up, did a little song and dance, and didn't want to get down. She's determined and knows what she wants. She's also sensible and responsible. When she goes away she gets to wear all these beautiful clothes but when she gets home shes very down to earth. There's no make up or showing off. It's hard to believe what she's achieved this year, being in the David Jones parades (as young ambassador) going to America (to be photographed by famous fashion snapper Patrick Demarchelier). Sometimes it's so overwhelming I have to go off and have a little cry. That's how proud i am of her
aww! her mum
