^it seems more directed by Samantha herself... she is taking it very slowly. At least she's not plunging in when she's not ready and then pulling back again, that seems to be the quickest career killer.

rumor was that she felt intimidated (in London) and since hasn't returned to do anything international

I don't think we will see her moving from Sydney anytime soon, she has a boyfriend here (I think they are engaged)

To answer people's questions I think I may have a reason. Ive met her a few times and she seems very quiet and shy but despite that, still not the type of girl that will gladly and effortlessly step out in the nude for a busy fashion show backstage in NY. Also has anyone noticed how hard it is for coloured models in the first place to make it? And yes in real life she is pretty, but not as pretty as her editorials that Ive ever seen to be honest which is fine for the model career but imo her photo's are either stunning or not. NOT saying she's ugly just, look at the really successful models who have walked in NY shows like Doutzen, Tanya D, Natasha P etc. Girls who walk season after season, year after year. The girls who probably now don't owe their managements money (haha). They look the same in every photo and every photo they look editorial without the editorial help. I hope Samantha finds success though, without risking a short lived career just because she tried entering the wrong market.

I've met Samantha as well and I have to say that she is actually really stunning in "real life", very natural beauty. I also didn't find her to be very shy but actually quite chatty.
She does very well in the Australian market but I don't know how well her look would go internationally considering the trends in the industry right now. Needless to say I'm sure it's more of a personal decision because she has been, numerous times now, referred to as the 'next big thing' but that can't really be achieved unless you go overseas..

I've read a few articles about her being "the next big thing" and i thought it was only a matter of time before she moved to ny or other big markets to further her career but it looks like she's safe & comfortable where she is, which is a shame cuz i think she has a very interesting face & can do pretty well for herself.

I think she is settled in Australia, so I doubt we will ever be seeing her rock the runways overseas . She has a long-term boyfriend, so I don't see her moving internationally without him (he is a builder/bricklayer I think). She could be trying to build her profile, then she will go LA.

Her profile has definitely grown in Australia, she deserves it her look is one of a kind!

But I think she would be even more striking if she went for some darker highlights (or none).
