Some La sales as well...
BargainsLa

I also know from seaching online that there is a private Manolo Blahnik sample sale at the Warwick Hotel every season. Its at 9-11am but most people don't know that it's open to the public after 11. I called the hotel and the next sale is in October so if you're interested, call back then to get the exact date. Too bad I won't be able to go to NYC then.... someone want to buy me some shoes?? :flower:

Another LA Sale!

California Mart
800-CAL-MART
110 East Ninth Street
Los Angeles, California 90079
If you're lucky enough to live in the Los Angeles area, or are planning a visit, be sure to stop by this sample sale extravaganza on Friday, August 31st, where you'll be able to score designer duds for the entire family at wholesale prices and way below. A directory at the mart will lead you to your favorite designers and manufacturers. Cash only.

I checked out the Varvatos winter sample sale and wasn't too impressed. I think it was back in December. I had to stand in line for almost an hour and saw tons of men coming out with bags and figured I would find something, but came out empty handed. It was a complete madhouse, but I did go the first day, first hour. If anyone plans on attending, I'd line up around 10:30 to get inside at 12. The die hards take all the good stuff. :)I like some of his outerwear but the selection was limited and the pricepoints were a bit too high for my tastes.

I'll probably check it out and post up a review.

Have any of you been to one of the sample sale "stores" like SSS (ClothingLine) or S&M? I was wondering if you needed appointments and what kind of things they usually had there. Also, are they open to the public?

I've been to the Clothing Line sales.

Yes, these sales are open to the public, no appt neeed. Most sample sales don't require an appt, I think that Prada does simply because the crowds would be so huge otherwise, just on their name alone. I could be wrong though.

As for what they have, it depends on the sale.

I've gone to the Theory sample sale there. They have a lot of sample sales, every week and then a blowout sale at the end of the season.

I seem to recall Nanette Lepore, Tocca, Diesel, Joie, Nike and several others having sales there.

Check out their website for a calendar and sign up for their emails and they will inform you of upcoming sales.

definitely check out sssample sale...cute stuff decent selection and prices...good for a younger customer...more contemporary than designer goods... ;)

Mens blow out sale at Holt Renfrew Last Call in Toronto start Sep 22.

Checked out the Varvatos sample today.
Pretty crowded, but a bust.

They were charging $300 for flimsy rain jackets, which originally retailed for $595. I remember seeing the same ones on sale at Saks for less than that during Act 2 and Finale. The leather pants were #399 and the leather/suede jackets were $599. As for shoes, I find his footwear to be ugly, and this sale didn't disappoint. The cheapest shoes were around $99.
Sweaters ranged from $69-$250. They also had some suits but I didn't really browse

A lot of people were buying and the line was quite long, but you can defintely do better pricewise when Saks, Bergs, Barneys, and Bloomies discounts his stuff.

Went to samples sales all over the city yesterday!
Buffalo-Hudson-Lacoste-Miss Sixty-Three Dots&More
Missed it on Saturday; they closed 30 minuted early! :(
Seven/Yanuk/Three Dots
Same location; very worthwhile! Bought a pair of Seven pink A-pockets for $100, a pair of Yanuks for $75. Saw the same pair of Yanuks at Barneys Co-op a few hours later going for $145! :woot:
Prada Sample Sale
Didn't buy a thing. Pretty much overpriced poo but there were some nice shoes at wholesale prices. Some yellow croc bags were left, still overpriced though.
Barney's Warehouse Sale
Didn't buy a thing but there was a very nce selection of shoes, Diane von Furstenberg wrap dresses, and a whole lot of nice Marc Jacobs dresses and skirts.
SSS/Clothingline Sample Sale
Ooh, what fun! Some current and past season Joie skirts and pants, lots of Milly dresses, some White+Warren tops, Buzz totes, Kooba leather bags for about $40, and some nice Cynthia Rowley and Betsey Johnson dresses. Bought a VERY cute candy print Cynthia Rowley babydoll dress for $65, Joie green cargos for $15, and a Free People sundress for $10. Saw a Joie plaid skirt for $15 and the same one at Barneys for over $200; nice!

Do all major cities with those stores have sample sales?

I know NY and LA would, SF probably does as well, but I don't know about Chicago, Dallas, or Houston do.

Anyone know?

help a rising designer to stage his NYFW show , on today and tomorrow :P

What with all the scholarships and prize money available to young designers these days, it’s easy to forget that money doesn’t exactly grow on trees. Such is the case for newcomer Patrik Rzepski, who is planning his sixth show for Sept. 11 at 11 a.m., but doesn’t yet have the $2,500 he needs to pay for it, as most traditional sponsors have found his designs a bit too “edgy” for their tastes.

So Rzepski is opening his home to an emergency sample sale today to raise cash. Samples from his previous two shows, the “We Miss You Myra” collection for spring and “A Correspondence With the Zodiac” for fall, will be available from $8 to $300, cash only.
“I’m one of those people who can squeeze a nickel into $25,” Rzepski said. “Even my mom does the catering backstage.”

Rzepski supporters can make a contribution in person (and buy clothes) at 211 East 14th Street, Apt. #7, from 4-7 p.m. today and Friday.

DWS here in London is pretty good in terms of sample sales.
I've attached the flier below.
I haven't been for a few seasons due to work commitments, but seeing as though I'm inbetween contracts at the moment (gotta love the TV industry and empty periods of work) I get to go
I've managed to get some nice stuff previously and they do seem to restock throughout so you don't need to worry about turning up late and being left with the crap.

If anyone knows of anymore sample sales in London, I'd love to know... the ones across the Atlantic are just making me plain jealous

That makes me sick. It makes me feel absolutely terrible for everyone who paid $1,700 for one of those Gucci blazers. And to think that those exponentially reduced prices are still a markup...

Doesn't make me mad that the blazers are reduced to $80! Its not like it's a bunch of poor homeless guys are spending $1,700 on an f-ing blazer and got ripped off a great deal. I see it as if you don't wait for the bargain, you don't get the sale. Besides, they must be some pretty ugly jackets for 80 bucks.
