All Jil Sander boutique fall/winter items are now 30% off, the boutique in Chicago had tons of stuff left.

All fall/winter apparel is now 30% off except for the prada sport. The mens section in the chicago store was kinda bare though.

haha, faust and softie we should go shopping together when I come down to NYC. But I'm gonna be travelling with my parents, I don't know how keen they are on meeting someone I know through the internet...

There's some Yohji stuff I'd like to check out at the sale, but the coats and suits this season aren't really my thing...they're too baggy. Margiela sweater for $160 sounds like a steal though...any bargains like that for men's stuff?

OK so I met my wife at the Choo sale (after I hit Theory). She was there earlier because of an insider preview, where she scored a bag and some boots....she said within a few minutes everything good was gone.....girls grabbing anything in sight......(how else does stuff end up on EBAY... B)
A friend of ours decided to wait in the line later (sale officially opened at noon & some waited for 90 minutes) and she tells us that NYPD had to come break up the line. literally telling people to LEAVE since there was nothing left inside and the sale was basically over.....

Gotta love a NYC sample sale!!!!

She's a graphic designer in training....they do some stuff for the fashion industry and various mags......she met a few girls on that side and now the sales info is nonstop...with the internet now word spreads so fast now that the insider previews is their way of I guess keeping it a bit exclusive or catering to their best customers/clients like the way sample sales used to be pre internet....
She won't come to the board, or any board for that matter. She hates the impersonal nature of the net and is really anti computer for anything besides function (like work stuff/Photoshop). She'd rather have *real* interactions with *real* people.....

It's weird that the Prada main line stuff is going on sale but Sport isn't...i always figured Sport would get the sales first.

Oh I do love the HL sale... But bear in mind that they do have an insider sale too before the sample sale...... so what you see in the sample sale are ok stuff... but as usual the good stuff would be gone... but still decent though

I agree the sample sale is soooo crappy now.... with all these people in droves they are also not discounting as much as they have in previous seasons

Yes, the prices were decent. I'm still thinking to go back and pick up a white button up shirt by Margiela with dark coral buttons, $80...

 

[Theory]

A lot of the Sport line stuff isn't seasonal or trendy.....whereas the signature line is, which is why it goes on sale at a certain time in the season. Things like Prada sport jackets and sneakers often can't be linked to say spring 2003....its timeless and will sell at full price....this isn't to say the Sport line doesn;t go on sale, i'm sure some pieces do...but the signature line has a dedicated timeframe, especially the clothing.....deeper discounts are to be had later this month or early Jan..
