omg,i never knew we had a thread on her! i was just thinking of starting one on her the other day but i could not find anymore images of her works. but i too saw her on diane's blog. wow i cannot believe what i am looking at.....so extraordinary....nothing like i've seen before....and in knitwear! stunning. and i agree tricot,so distinct and is exactly an attribute that makes a great, quality designer.

I was shocked when I, for the first time, saw her vest made interely out of brown hair.
it's really beautiful !

im so happy she won the prize, she really deserved it. its amazing to come across such and original talent

deservedly so. her work's instantly recognizable. i'm really wondering if they're lightweight. nevertheless, it looks gorgeous.

I am always stunned to see how she always pushes the boundaries of what's possible in her craft... it never bores to see what she can do with knits, simply because noone did what she did before. This must be like when Paco Rabanne entered the scene, only with the fact that I find her creations to be a lot more sophisticated than shift dresses made of mirrors and metal pins.

I am looking forward to see what she is up to, now that she won Hyères! Bravo Sandra!!

^again I think it's absolutely amazing. the way she takes knits into more dramatic proportions. but it's always cohesive. it kind of stops you in your path--but it isn't forceful, instead it captiavates and bewitches you!

i sent lovely sandra a congratulatory message through her iqons profile and responded with a lovely a thank you.

 Standing ovation for Ms. Backlund's very impressive talent. Here is the link to her site: http://www.sandrabacklund.com This is my favorite from her 'hair' series. What a take on a flapper dress!

She makes me proud to be Swedish.

Seriously, her designs are so innovative.

I remember the beckmans end of the year exhibition a few years ago and i think i saw her creations, does anyone know what year she graduated so i know i'm not crazy?
