Constanze G. González and Paul Scherer are the creative force behind the Berlin-based fashion label Scherer González, founded in 2004.
Scherer González tailors its clothing with the finest of materials such as duchess satin, cashmere, ostrich feathers and snakeskin, as well as Nappa and goat leather. The fabrics are individually treated with special dyes and vintage silk washes for a look that is entirely unconventional. Not ones to scrimp when it comes to material, the designers favour a subtly opulent aesthetic over cutting corners. The tailoring gives shape to the wearer's body and accentuates her femininity. The designs appear both laced up and deconstructed, at once voluptuous and light as a feather.
The duo's meticulous attention to detail is apparent in such extraordinary elements as gilded snake vertebrae, handmade leather buttons, and goat suede crafted with pleated taffeta and metal rings. Indeed, unusual combinations like silk velvet, Nappa and chiffon, and the conscious deconstruction of classic cuts have become signature features of Scherer González designs.
