you will never be galliano - ever! he was never this overwrought and he never tried this hard. he made the weightiest of opera coats look light. there was a movement, a joyfulness, and a lightness to his work that roseberry's stiff and cumbersome schiaparelli will never have.
 
It looks like this collection is made from blankets and towels. lol
 
Galliano looks good on anything, but referencing him so heavily calls automatically for a comparison, and the comparison here is merciless.
There are gorgeous pieces in the show, individually the pieces are stiff, true, but flawless.
Every look in the show is studied to the minimum detail, but ultimately it misses the soul, the gesture, the lightness and the gall of Galliano’s genius.
Roseberry should stick to his guns, sharp tailleur, hyper proportions, surrealism, and steer away from floaty frothy flou French couture.
 
Its more Dior than MGC's Dior, not my cup of tea but at least it is exciting and the clothes are full of life.
