Schiaparelli Haute Couture S/S 2015 Paris

And that's why Schiaparelli should be closed.
They can't find their own aesthetic without
looking at their archives (those archives are just dated). This collection is a bit like Ungaro by Lohan without Lohan so it's not the best thing IMHO. They tried to do something similar to Zanini's work and failed.

This collection was created by the studio, under the direction of Farida Khelfa.

This is actually good. I didn't know she had that on her!
You can see that she is very close to Gaultier & Alaia. I can see some of their influences in it.
I like most of it! The green stars embroidered and trompe-l'oeil dress and the blue & orange "zig zag" dress are killer!

It will sell, no doubt about it! She knows her stuff

This didn't work with a Creative Director and is not going to work without one.

What an irrelevant collection. And they fired Marco to do a washed-out and poor version of his approach to the brand? Laaaaaame.

They should stop... Who on Earth will wear this?

It's undeniably a conceptually weak collection, obviously largely inspired by the archives and very irrelevant. That being said, though, some of the pieces look impeccably made and that is what couture is about at the end of the day. I especially love the two bow-embellished dresses, something captivating about them - can see why this would appeal to a haute couture customer.

Way better than last season's drag-queen mess. Less vulgar of course.

There's a couple beautiful dresses for summer here.

HIDEOUS. Absolutely hideous. This makes Raf's Dior collection look beautiful and not tacky.. this is that bad.

Farida Khelfa's influence is pretty obvious in this one and as said before by Lola701 also the influence by Gaultier and Alaia.

I think this collection will sell like hot cakes among the super rich haute couture clientele because it looks pretty easy to wear.

LOL at those calling this hideous, this far better than what I just saw at Dior.

They did a very good job at capturing the spirit of Elsa , at the same time all of this is very wearable. This will sell VERY well with the couture clients, esp with clients in Gulf Arab countries.
Honestly Elsa Schiaparelli's silhouettes are far more modern compared to Christian Dior's , as her clothes liberated women and had an ease of movement and utility .
Dior's bar suits and skirts were constricting and more about opulence.

OMG I'm so glad to see Shu Pei again!!!!! :)

I don't understand why some people hate this... Schiaparelli is not minimal nor is it safe! The house perfectly captured the spirit and essence of Schiaparelli! If she was living during these times I can definitely see her creating these! Adore the play on the pins! And the hand prints!

And yes I can see this selling like crazy.
