Selena's E special

Thanks for all the pictures guys xx

Well this is really quite sweet and her mums really pretty!

Selena: After my parents separated my mom actually got her own apartment and I moved in with her.
Selena’s Mom: I decided to go to college. I would get up at 6 in the morning, get her ready for school, drop her off then from there I would go to school and we did that everyday. And so the part that I regret then was I feel like I lost a year because it was so much going and going and going - I don’t wanna cry - but that was a tough year.
Selena: I remember my mom would run out of gas all the time and we’d sit there and we’d have to like go through the car and get like quarters to help her get gas because she never liked to ask my grandparents for money. And I remember having a lot of macaroni and cheese but my mom never made it seem like it was a big deal. She was really strong around me.
Selena’s Mom: Yeah we may have ran out of gas, we did have to walk to the dollar store to get dollar spaghetti so we always had food but if I knew she wanted to go to a concert I would save up for it so you do the best you can with what you’re given.
Selena: I mean having me at 16 had to have been a big responsibility. My mom gave up everything for me and had like three jobs, supported me, sacrificed her life for me.

Selena: This is a very superficial job. I sit in a chair for two hours and get hair and make up done and talk about me in interviews. That’s a very vain thing to do and I do get caught up in it sometimes, I do. And thats so… unhealthy. Which is why I surround myself with people that do bring me back there quickly.

Selena: I feel like people are very judgmental. So it’s kind of a scary thing to have to have to deal with when it comes to people prying on your personal life. Wanting to know what you’re wearing and who you’re dating and who you don’t like and who you do like. ..You kinda can’t experience that on your own, you kinda can’t experience growing up alone without having the entire world have an opinion about it.
Selena’s Mom: The fame part freaks her out. She’s terrified of paparazzi. She’s terrified of the kind of mob thing.
Selena’s Cousin: We’re walking through airports and Selena will just put in her headphones and I’m like, “Why do you have your headphones in?” and she’s like, “Because they’re gonna talk to me and they’re gonna say mean things and I don’t wanna hear it.”
Selena: I don’t handle it very well. If you see pictures of me most of the time my head is down and stays down because it’s very awkward for me to have a grown man in my face with a camera when I’m out to dinner with my family or something. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to that. I guess I kinda have to because it’s part of the job but it’s very weird.

On leaving Texas and being homesick:
Selena: I cried every single night for about three months.
Selena’s Dad: At one point I asked her, “Do you want to come home?” and she was like, “No Dad I can do it.”
Selena: As much as I wanted to go home I was so happy from like 7 in the morning to like 3:30 in the afternoon ‘cause I was on set. I never wanted to give up. I was too… I was too in love with it.

On finding out Demi got Barney too:
We had this huge meeting after they casted every single person and I looked in the crowd and as I’m in the parking lot I see Demi and you’d think it was out of a movie I was so excited and I was so happy to see her!

Selena: My mom was the best. She was really - she was everything, she still is everything to me. And I think still to this day I don’t feel like I’m good enough for my mom. I try to make her proud. She’s everything.
Selena’s Mom: I don’t know why she would feel that way. She was given an opportunity to be on the Disney Channel and that was a dream of hers. So how as a parent can you say, “Eh.. well… It doesn’t work out for me..” You know? You have to support it and I don’t really expect anything from her. I don’t expect for her to be perfect. She makes me really proud and she’s a great kid.

On being on Barney and going to school:
I got made fun of a lot. People would sing the songs to me, write notes in my locker about Barney. It’s such an easy target. I mean I was handing it to the kids. Of course I cried a couple of times but I loved my job.

****yea selena gomez
