thanks for posting these! on the topic of self service's newer agendas, has anyone found or can on suggest any new publications similar to purple or self service in their beginnings? i haven't been able to find anything so desirable...

the only thing i can think of that's remotely in the vein of their 'indie' style+substance sensibility is A magazine. even in spite of the porenza schouler edited issue,overall it's outstanding. and maybe acne paper too.

lurve and muse....not sure about those quite honestly. they try but i don't get that spark from those like the old purple and SS.

^Maybe encens? I have only two issues in my possession, from 2006, but I ended up grabbing those because it was like no other magazine I've ever seen.

Acne Paper is amazing, though. And I respect EXIT magazine, partly because it behaves more like a photography magazine than a 'fashion' one, so to speak.

^exit is good too. actually there is a very good magazine in germany that i have fallen in love with,which i missed,called mode depesche. it so has a similar spirit that purple and ss does.
