Shampoo And Conditioner

So far, nothing is better for my hair than Kerastase shampoo and conditioner. :)

my no shampoo thing didn't really work, it went like this:

-day 1, washing with just conditioner: my hair looked fantastic! better than it has in a long time.
-day 2, natural, no washing: hair was like it usually is on day 2, but a little greasier by the end of the day
-day 3, washing with just conditioner: eh, ok, but kinda dirty looking
-day 4, meant to be a no wash day: had to wash hair, the greasy-ness was out of control.

So, I think next time I try this I'll try alternating, every other wash will be a no shampoo/just conditioner wash. Since I wash my hair every other day, this will mean twice a week it will see shampoo.

I'll let you know if that works.

kerastase is awesome!! its expensive though...if u live in the states and have CVS stores near u, they just started selling it at a discount. Kerastase is great for dry hair!! but, i only use their shampoos/conditioners...i find that their styling products are ok, but dont work well on my hair...the ole-relax holding mist from kerastase is awful in my opinion!! it made my hair stiff and lifeless and i spent $30.00 on it!!!!
anything with jojoba oil in it is the best for dry hair...try to get something that has a high concentration of it...its not really an oil- they just call it that...so, it wont weigh down your hair

WOW! ARE serious...
thanks for the tip. :flower: :o

It really is amazing.
Sometimes you can get it for less @ Nordstrom Rack too.

What kind of conditioner did you use? I know that you shouldn't conditioner wash with conditioners that causes build-up. Conditioners with silicones usually build-up.

Pantene for brunettes is great
Sunsilk for brunettes is AMAZING smells of chocolate and orange

My hair is very, very dry, so i usually shampoo it at night, dry it off a little, put in some conditioner and sleep on it. Then i rinse the conditioner out in the morning. Last night i used a sachet of Palmers Coconut Oil conditioner, and this morning my hair is in the best condition it ever has been! it feels so soft and silky, and no frizz! Im so buying the biggest bottle i can find!

I like Thermasilk because it releases silk proteins when I use my flat iron. :) (or so it claims....either way, it makes my hair look amazing)

Just so you know the truth, Thermasilk does not really release silk proteins. And even if it did, it wouldn't do anything for hair. What really makes the formula work are the rest of the ingredients in the product. But hey, as long as you like it!

I've been using L'Oreal Elvive Smooth-Intense Shampoo & Conditioner and it's really good. Ofcourse, not as good as Kerastase (which is my all-time fav.) but it does leave my hair smooth, soft, and frizz-free.

Your comment about coconut oil has a good scientific basis! An article in the Journal of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists said that coconut oil is one of the few natural oils that actually penetrates into the cortex of hair. We wrote a post on it here if you want to read more.

^^ thanx for the article, beautybrains! I didnt know it could actually do that!

i'm cuurently using john frieda's moisturzing shampoo and light reflecting conditioner from the brilliant brunette line, it smells really nice(which actually made me like it in the first place)

Wow! I never thought about washing my hair at night and sleeping with the conditioner. That is a great tip. I am going to try it. Do you wrap your hair in anything while you sleep? I don't want conditioner all over my face and pillow case.

taperjeangirl i heard that it made alotta girls suffer from hair loss, after one or two uses! so, im not sure if u should try it

Have tried it, my hair is fine but there is no diffrernce to it, no added gloss or colour enhancement. Will stop using if it will create hair loss :o

no, just pop on a shower cap, or wrap your hair up tightly in a towel. Works great for me!
