Shampoo And Conditioner

Currently using Clairol Herbal Essence Fruit Fusion (kiwi, kumquat & fig for normal to greasy hair)

Hey :)

I second Kerastase Bain Satin and Protein Conditioning Milk.

And really, if you have weird hair one day, try the Masquintense - it really does work.

i use custom made products at the moment called ESP.....it hasnt been launched yet im the 'tester'
it works ok..........but im trying to make them make it thicker and more creamy

FEKKAI doesnt do ANYTHING to my hair...their styling products are nice..but their shampoos and conditioners arent that special...ill just stick w/ my drugstore brand haha ;)

Does anyone know of a good drugstore shampoo/conditioner for dry or colour treated hair? So far the best I've tried is ColourVive and this stuff called Hydroblast but they don't seem to make that one anymore.

L'OREAL are always good (in general)
JOHN FRIEDA has a good range as well ;)

I use Clairol Herbal Essence Shampoo and Conditioner, both for colour-treated hair. It prolongs my colour and gives more shine.

does anyone else hate when shampoos are thin and water like? i like a thick, foamy shampoo..... phyto's are too watery for me.

I have been into loccitaine's shampoos these days and I am addicted to terax conditioner...

PHYTO has a great ORANGE BLOSSOM shampoo for ULTRA DRY hair. i used it all summer.: its thick foamy and smells heavenly
havent tried OCCITANE yet. will do ;)

I have the herbal essences shampoo for colour treated hair in the new fragrance. It worked well for a little while but then it slowly started to dry my hair out. I find that with drugstore brands I always have to rotate shampoos and conditioners or else my hair will get either too dry or too greasy. I haven't yet found a brand that stays consistent. Clairol Daily Defence used to be my favourite but I hate the new fragrance!

There is an aveada store in my mall and my salon also carries Aveda products. If you can't find them, check out aveda.com

I have fried and dyed my hair beyond belief, and Garnier Frutis has been the least expensive, and most effective shampoo and conditioner I have used.

I have always used 'Outragious' up until a couple months ago. Then I was using the Dove shampoo now everytime i need a new shampoo I grab a different kind. But i do have a citrus kind right now it comes in a bright floresent green bottle, that seems to be working for me at the moment. Now i am not going to say that it will work for you, but i will say that at the moment it is turning my crank. Just a tid-bit of info for ya as well....It smells really good too and lets face it that is just an added bonus as well

My friend was telling me how she uses coconut oil on her natural tight curls and it makes them sooo shiny and it separates the squiggles - just love that!

Me . . . I have thick really long light brown hair that I've never died only hilighted this past summer. Right now I'm thinking it's too long at almost 3'!! Anyway, my shampoos MUST:
a) moisturize and smooth - Pantene ProV Smooth and Sleek
B) clean away residue - Pantene Clarifying and
c) smell good - like anything from Philosophy or Suave (seriously!)

Conditioners gotta be creamy and rich.

hi guys.

im new to the site and i just read up on all your views on shampoos and conditioners. im a hairdresser and have just qualified.

i agree with kerastase being great. it is expensive but then again you dont need a lot of it because its so concentrated and unlike other brands which are cheaper doesnt contain much detergents if any, so it doesnt tend to strip the hair of any natural properties such as oils.

i would recommend greatly the course of 5 treatments which strengthens the hair by up to 85% as this is the best treatment on the market for extremely knackered hair which as been over treated, ( coloured, over heated by excessive use of flat irons, hairdryers, tongs and other heated appliances). its about £15-20 depending on which retailer you go too, but it is god stuff. also, if you didnt want to spend an awful lot of money the tigi/catwalk/bedhead range is brilliant. it smells good and its one of the best lower priced shampoos around.

a strict word of advice to everyone. fructis may seem to be working wonders for your hair now, but wait for a few months after you change shampoos and your hair loses its moisture and radiance. fructis shampoo is one of the worst shampoo as it strips the hair totally of all its natural properties/oils and leaves it worse for wear.

in a poll of shampoos hairdressers recommended, hairdressers including nicky clarke, paul mitchell (i dont really rate his products either) beverly cobella (she knows GOOD hairdressing) paul stafford, lee stafford and many others they said this was the worst shampoo they had found on the market.

great input, thanks winklepicker and a warm welcome to FS :flower:

i believe you on Fructis, personally i use the Korres shampoo for dry hair, their mask is also good, they have their brand new shop in London and also through harvey nicols.

from 'popular' mainstream brands, i like Dove, i also use kerastace mask instead of conditioner but i only leave it on for half to one minute.

to avoid: clinique hair washing range, the fixers are good though .

btw, :ninja: i'm real proud of the texture of my hair.

hmm, when i think about it my favourite products have been so far.
(this is from the time when i used to go dye my hair in paris "colorist" and christophe used ONLY her products)

this BANANA SHAMPOO. i  it
