HOPPERS Crossing beauty Shanina Shaik has officially hit the big time, modelling for Chanel and signing a lucrative deal with Victoria's Secret in seven days.

The 20-year-old took the catwalk by storm last Tuesday, wearing an Indian-inspired sari dress and leather boots in the couture giant's Paris-to-Bombay show under the watchful eye of Karl Lagerfeld.

After her debut for Victoria's Secret alongside Miranda Kerr last month, Shaik will shoot a print campaign for the lingerie giant this week.

No this was a test shoot - Shanina is shooting with VS today and based on her tweet she states she's feeling better so all is good!

If she's shooting in NY, then she's not shooting these VS pics with Russell James. He's shooting swim in the Turks & Caicos right now, so unless she's there, then it's a different photographer (maybe James Macari, Ben Watts or someone else) doing this VS shoot with her.

Can't be Ben Watts. He's in LA, so it's someone else if she's shooting in NY. Not Ben or Russell.

So do VS make them do a test, then catalogue for their first appearance? How confusing.

I can't wait to see these tests though, especially if they involve wings

I mentioned the possible photographers because some of you were talking about wanting to see behind the scenes shots a few days ago. Ben and Russell are the regular VS photographers that do that, so if she's not shooting with either one of them, then you might not see sneak peaks of the pictures like you were hoping for. If that was only a test session and a catalog session that she and Jessica did a few days ago, then they don't always release those.

Shanina is what we'd call an exotic beauty: her father is Pakistani, and Saudi while her mother is Lithuanian and Australian (genes!) Tyson Beckford discovered Shanina modeling in her home country of Australia, and now they're a happy couple. This year she lived out a dream of hers to walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. hopefully she gets an ed in US GQ soon, the last time she was in there she had that horrible nude shot with Diddy like she was some video girl (that was a horrible booking by NYMM, pretty desperate by them)

I am sure the next time she shoots with them she will be featured. I wouldn't be surprised if she shot Aussie GQ soon, they give eds to all the aussie models who work for VS.
