Silk head scarves S/S 06

i adooooore scarves especially cause im a person who has to hide her baby hairs:S love the thread....any other ways to hide baby hairs or treat them?

These are really beautiful! I wonder how they tied them/how many times and whether they had to use pins. Does anyone know? <3 Thanks in advance!

i love them. if you wear them in bright colors/patterns, and have dark brown or black hair it looks amazing.

Ever since I saw this thread I have been wearing my scarves as much like those first ones as possible! I love it, the only problem is my scarves arent quite long enough. But I have a vintage kelly green scarf with white polka dots that is just about long enough and I wear it as much like that as possible.

Thanx for this thread, I never would have thought of wearing a silk scarf on my head outside! I often wear one in the house but tied in a knot at the front of my head, but I may have to try a more fancy style and see if I can pull it out...great for bad hair days!

^ LOL .. I always like it when it's used as a headband and it's long enough so the ends peek out under your hair when it's down.

Wow. I must be the only one who really loves those. I want to buy one right now.

I actually like them too!, I have 2, but thier neutrals, I do like them with the colour though. I guess it depends on how and what you wear it(with)

I adore scarves! I have been recently building up a collection of vintage ones. I esp. love vintage Vera scarves, the patterns are so fun! I still love the look of a scarf and oversize sunglasses, but IDK if I can still get away with it this summer since this look was so "in" a couple of summers ago. But IMO a great scarf never goes out of style!

whats wrong with looking bourgeois?!

I like to wear them tied around my head when i'm cleaning (like the knot being on top of my head, as opposed to underneath my hair). It makes me feel more into it

since when is showing a classic style bougeois? i mean perhaps you consider bourgeois something else. just wondering.

i love scaves. tie around the handle of a handbag, on holiday in my hair with large glasses, in the car, with jeans and a white shirt. oooooooooooo i love them. I have found several vintage scaves at several charity sales. they are so fun!

alot of girls wear colorful scarves in stead of the regular hijab here

looks cute :)

I was responding to a post where someone said they looked 'bourgeois'. Perhaps you should address the question towards them but I think she was talking about the scarves being tied a specific way as being such, not scarves in general.

sorry, i made a mistake in quoting and spelling..

no, no problems. I was just saying if you wanted an answer to your question, you should ask Kim, instead of myself!

I love wearing a head scarf, at the moment I am thinking I might just buy some material and sew up the ends, but I can't find a material I like and I've been looking forever!

I was wondering, if you wear scarves on your head and as a belt, do you guys usually use oblong shaped ones, or square ones? Hermes only has square scarves, but it always seems to make more sense to me to have longer rectangular scarves...

Help! =)

well the rectangular ones are great for both. squares you can do in the hair (ponytail or simple head band) or on the purse or the neck but it is tight.

I think it's very popular in Europe. My friends there wear them there often, scarves in different textures, especially raggedy ones. One and her environmental friends in particular in Finland are always wearing them.

Do the designers also design the graphics on the scarves?
Who designed the scarves in the 1st post, by Christian Lacroix ???
