Marc Jacobs could be a good option but in my perfect world he would’ve gone to Chanel, Del Core would be at Versace and now Blazy could be a terrific appointment for Fendi.

I could see Thomas Maier doing it, he’s on his late 60’s… and, personally, as I always found her designs to be extremely chic, I wouldn’t mind Frida

Her most recent collection was disappointing, and last season was safe and forgettable. Her shining moment was Fall 2020, which stood out as one of the best collections of that season. Based on what we’ve seen, it’s fair to say she’s inconsistent. It takes a lot of work to craft a strong, impactful collection, and perhaps her heart just isn’t in it anymore. Hopefully, her successor will understand the brand and stay faithful and respectful to its DNA.

I know quantity doesn’t reflect quality, but the fact that she’s leaving after just two collections says a lot about her as a designer. They shut down the couture department without, did co-ed shows this year, which the first looked great only because it wasn’t Kim Jones in charge, but the last one was mediocre. That’s not how Fendi’s 100th anniversary should have been celebrated… and in the end they played Alessia dirty, who could have been leading the brand with some dignity

Silvia was clearly used to leaning on Karl and couldn't handle being CD, after Kim Jones left.
The brand has lost its identity. I think Silvia being honorary president is purely ornamental. If you're not gonna stay and do the work to uphold the family name - what's the point? I give up.

Frankly I wouldn't mind, at this point. Fendi is not a fashion design bastion, it's never been, their fame is all about workmanship and that is something that MGC knows very well how to play with. Even with (or maybe because of) her limited design scope, she can do well. And if the alternative is Francesco Risso...well, get me a noose, now!
