Silvia Venturini Fendi - Designer

Not too hopeful about Silvia's successor, let's see if they get someone better than MGC or Risso, who imo was too messy even for Marni. I used to root for Stefano Pilati at Fendi, but I think now it's time for him to take over Armani. Fabio Zambernardi going to Fendi would be kinda fabulous, he would probably do great + show Prada what mistake they truly made.
As for Silvia, I respect her for leaving rather than presenting whatever, as many do; don't know how much design input she really had, but some of the collections she presented without Karl were very good, particularly the menswear ones. However, the one that stands out the most is arguably the F/W 2019 couture show held atop the Colle Palatino, for me the ultimate celebration of the archetypically Roman house of Fendi, a lot more than their 100th anniversary show actually.

I love how Silvia didn’t even mention LVMH or anyone working there in her press release

Does anyone know why Silvia actually stepped down or if she was pushed out? Has she done any interviews since her exit? I’m so curious how MGC came about…

From what I’ve heard, LVMH was trying to slowly push out the Fendi family from gaining too much control post Lagerfeld (hence the Kim Jones hire)

LVMH holds around 86.94% of Fendi fashion house today, while a small portion is held by other interests like :
Alda Fendi, the only member of the Fendi family to remain a shareholder in the label, which is majority-owned by LVMH
so no way Silvia or any Fendi could call the shots

That’s a real shame honestly… It’s not very democratic but I understand why they own the majority.
