Nothing new, but I love how they showed it this season. :woot: My favorites are Sophia Kokosalaki, Yohji Yamamoto and AF Vandervorst.

Designers Have Some New Tricks Up Their Sleeves

NEW YORK, January 27 – Up. Down. Up. Down. There are only so many places a hemline can go, so it's understandable that designers would eventually turn their attention to other parts of the body. This season, they explored the wide world of shirts and sleeve treatments, cutting and slashing and otherwise focusing on the arm, not the leg.

Balenciaga and Preen celebrated the faux pas with sleeves that mimicked the droopy fall of errant lingerie. Emilio Pucci and Emanuel Ungaro sent out one-sleeved looks, while at Y's, Yohji Yamamoto showed his generous nature by designing garments with extra sleeves. Helmut Lang and AF Vandevorst added a further twist: they used the sleeves on classic shirt shapes to wrap and tie the body, thus finding a way to truly skirt the issue.

Im so glad to see this "trend" come into play..i have been drawing sketches of many of the styles seen in those photos and glad someone realized that changing the sleeves of a shirt/top changes the whole feel of it!!

i love them all..almost

fun stuff! anything to camoflage my...less than toned arms :)

I love the Vandevorst sleeve too igni*. They cut an armhole mid-way of the sleeve so if you would like to give your arm a bit more freedom you can just stick it through that. Plus, you get this added drape over the arms...which I believe was initially inspired by angel wings. Its kind of their trademark now and they do it almost every season.

I didn't like the idea very much at first, but now I'm warming up to it :flower:
