So I just saw Sara Ziff's documentary Picture Me (Snejana's in it walking a show for a couple seconds) and I was just thinking about how actually glad I am that Snejana is not killing herself trying to still be everywhere and do everything. It seems girls really burn out fast from the rush that is fashion world. Once mystique, glamor and novelty wear off, you see many girls struggle with trying to find meaning or themselves in all of this. And I know we always hear how exhausting fashion weeks can be and all that, but seeing it again here really brought the point home. I'm glad Snejana never wanted to make fashion her life. Glad she never went into walking every show out there, doing every ed possible, etc. I bet she's a lot more calm and relaxed because she's been taking it easy and doing it on her own terms rather than chasing useless mdc ranking or short-lasting prestige from a Vogue cover.
I'd much rather we see a happy Snejana once a year than a miserable and exhausted Snejana every week. I think she's achieved everything a model could wish for and I think it was really smart of her to not get caught up in the whole thing.
