PARIS SANS WINTOUR: There will be an extra front-row seat at the Paris collections in October: Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour plans to skip the City of Light. The reason? In addition to Milan, she's attending London Fashion Week, which she last visited in February 2006. Wintour will already be in her native city to speak at Isabella Blow's memorial service and give a presentation for the British Society of Magazine Editors. "Unfortunately, she is not able to attend London, Milan, and Paris as well," said a Vogue spokesman. "She needs to return to New York for the magazine."
That said, Wintour will make a pit stop in Paris on her way back home to preview the collections. Vogue is expected to be represented in Paris with the usual crew, which includes creative director Grace Coddington, fashion director Tonne Goodman, fashion news-features director Sally Singer, fashion market-accessories director Virginia Smith, European editor at large Hamish Bowles and editor at large André Leon Talley.
Those French designers who fret over a Wintour-less front row can, of course,
extend an invite to model Snejana Onopka, who was a dead-ringer for the editor in the August issue of Paris Vogue.
