Snejana Onopka

her getting on social media was probably the biggest mistake of her career...
Social media ruined the mystery of the model
(model behavior thread)

i definitely agree with MModa, her career isn’t gonna take off again nor do i think anyone will pay it any mind (other than teenagers crazing over the slavic doll era) but genuinely good luck to her. i feel bad

Where on earth did she get 16.6 millions 'followers' from?
Either she or a shady marketing agency are probably using companies like bulkoid. It's definitely all bots (less than 3 posts, usually 0), they tend to be replicas of 'people' from regions like Latin America or India/Sri Lanka, but in her case, I guess I think she's using some really bottom of the barrel service cause her followers look like this 💀:

Where on earth did Barbara Palvin and others got theirs??!!
I'm not sure if I want to get into this, but Barbara has a lot more mass appeal whereas Snejana isn't really known outside fashion. Barbara has been working consistently since 2010 when Snejana has basically been on a hiatus since 2015.
by MDC numbers :
Ad campaigns - Snejana 42 / Barbara 186
Covers - Snejana 29 (yes, that includes even her L'Officiel Liechtenstein cover) / Barbara 98
Editorials - Snejana 33 / Barbara 123 (Barbara has appeared in SI twice)
Shows - Snejana 229 / Barbara 32 (but Barbara does VS)

Bots for sure. We discussed this a few pages before already. There's no way she's got that amount of followers when she hasn't worked in 10 years. I can't name a single model, be it immensely famous on top of that, who's got that much of followers as her (aside from Barbara Palvin already mentioned). This makes no sense.

She needs help ASAP. I don’t understand how her friends and family let this happen without saying a word. No one would let you work under these conditions, not even back in the day. Her last decent appearance was at a Vaccarello show, and I had high hopes of seeing her return to the fashion scene.

These comments about her appearance aren’t very nice, but I understand your point of view. In fact, Snejana represents something that isn’t very current in fashion, but I think there’s still room for her. We’ve seen that on the cover of a Harper’s Bazaar she can look beautiful, nothing that some runway makeup and a good hair treatment couldn’t do to bring her back to the track. Obviously, I don’t think she’ll have the same success she once had, but I do think it’s possible for her to do a few occasional jobs here and there!

I agree, there’s no need to point out the obvious, she clearly needs help, but honestly, I doubt any hair or makeup artist could work a miracle and make her look like she did on that last HB cover. She doesn’t even look like herself anymore. Dye her hair brown and she’s basically Fiona Apple's doppelgänger.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d be here for even a single-season comeback of the early 00s European dolls, but even the uncanceled ones barely work these days... for Snejana, it’s even more difficult, the industry doesn’t seem willing to forgive her.
