I love his work, even though a lot of the time it can be over-the-top and use a lot of artificial lighting, I love the modernity exhibited in his work. I agree with comments saying his older work was better, however I still like a lot of his current work

very nice. Eventhough I like his current work I like his older work more. Its less mechanic in a sense and the colours are nicer.

I think I'm the other way around. I think the newer work is alot more interesting, more of a story line.

I love the eerieness of Klein's work, like those old McQueen campaigns and the Gasmask film for SHOWstudio.

I am trying to find an old editorial he did for the Face. It was a retrospective of McQueen's work, titled McQueen on the Green and I think it was styled by Isabella Blow, shortly before the Face closed, if I remember correctly. If anyone has a copy of the issue I would be sooooo grateful for scans of this shoot! Thanks!

Love him...One of my fave photogs. He really creates a world that you want to be in, or at the very least learn more about.

^1990? vintage steven. i had no idea he'd been working that long.

thanks for the pics!

Actually his 1990 eds still look quite contemporary now, only the makeup and hair a bit off

as always I like that blue tonality, but that's the only thing I like, the rest is... awful
Now, please, in the 5th to last photo of the second set, the black guy who's holding the mirror has some kind of black border around the hips and part of the arm, what's that supposed to be? :innocent:. And in most of the location shots there's too much difference between the natural lighting and the people, and everything is so plastic, and the skin is so shiny :yuk:. He definitely knows how to shoot terrible photos, oh yes he does.

I just had to post this.

My friend is a photographer in Los Angeles who recently graduated. In her senior thesis exhibit in 2006, she did a series of people with fox masks on the back of peoples heads. It was later shown in large format at an exhibit earlier this year

eck. its even the same mask, just spray painted!

... I have no words.
