Steven Meisel - Photographer

Great news about Madonna's album cover:clap:It can't beat his cover for Like A Virgin though:wub::D

Yeah, considering Madonna's so old and haggard now

But I hope he photographs her for the cover well too now, considering the fact that
I thought he didnt photograph her very well for the LV campaign recently

Oh snap.:pI am so tired of people hating on her because of her age, she looks fantastic still, and he will make her look good anyway.^_^

But i guess i see what you mean about their last LV ads collabo, it wasnt their best, but i still liked it though, its just those drab colours didnt work so well.

I hate to say this but Madonna's really getting old, if you have seen the outtakes and unretouched shots of her Hard
Candy album, u would agree with me :flower:

The photos of her recently released hasn't been good ( more evidence she is old already lol), so much retouching going
on her face in the recent LV campaign, and she doesnt look that great in candids anymore. Her videos recently, it has been
all out to look her look younger, in the 4 min video, they used very strong lighting directed at her face as compared to Justin
and the GI2M video, her face was blown out as well. I do love Madonna, I really think she is a determined and intelligent woman,
I don't hate her because of her age, I hope she could embrace her age better ( Jesus Luz really? )

Ok back to Steven. I hope he really photographs her well this time round with the second campaign and the album cover

The video about the exposition doesn't load for me.(Even the diaporama doesn't work, wonder why.)So what does it say?Who is on it?

i'm sorry people are having troubles with the video ... I often have problems with this site, too. And I cannot see the pictures.

there's only the curator (?) who's talking.

"We've decided with him to show all his VI covers since july 1988 til april 2009, which makes 317 covers ... So we work on Fashion History. We can notice the evolution of taste in models. For instance, Linda Evangelista is the models who appears the most ... So we can see her own evolution... Then, of course, we observe the evolution of Fashion. And graphism, too.
He is someone who has the chance to have a certain (big) freedom thanks to Franca ... So he can socially comment what's going on with fashion and image ... Not everything he's doing is beautiful and glamour ... He has a point of view and thinks the press and media are a place where, though he hasn't the pretention of changing the world, he can express it."

a sort of sum-up of what's being said in the video. the guy has a strong italian accent, so i don't understand everything .... ouch !

the display is very simple and chronologic ... the photos are normal covers size and displayed on three (not sure maybe four) white walls. They are displayed from eyes height to up and make four lines on each wall ...

nope, I have seen those pics and don't agree with you, and it doesn't matter, she's Madonna, I mean, Madonna!

she's not one of those irrelevant models of today whose retouched face we are not going to see the next season.

there will always be a magazine/photographer/designer hoping for a chance to work with her, it doesn't matter if she looks 90, haggard, older, ugly ... ^_^

Jesus really? didn't you say she's intelligent? if so you should get it :p

^ Yup, I do feel she's overdoing it with the injections on her face and the gross muscles she has sometimes, I do have a lot of respect for this woman

As for Jesus Luz, well you could say she is smart in a way :lol:

She looked her best during the Confessions tour, but not now

Hopefully Meisel can capture her more natural beauty this time round

How long will those be available? Sounds like a nice birthday present for me and Caroline Trentini.

We share birthdays of course I wouldn't share that book with her. I should ask my parents if they can give it to me in advance because I'm afraid thöse books on't be for sale for forever.

49 euro's is not that expensive as I've feared :woot:

Thanks for the translation BerlinRocks.

hey guys!

i have a question...
