I'm just flicking through a coffee-table book of great 20th century photography, and it's interesting to see which photos are chosen to represent a photographer. I just thought it would be intriguing to see which iconic Meisel images some of you guys would pick that embody his vision - what future generations would look back at and immediately identify with him. Keeping in mind that they would be images that have to compete with "high-art" and journalistic photos, outside of the fashion world's bubble. I was thinking about it, and I often find it hard to separate individual images from editorials as a whole. But maybe that would be Meisel's legacy? An emphasis on narrative and development within a series of photos rather than a single image?

I know what I'm asking would require reposting, so if you'd rather keep the thread free of repeats feel free to ignore me. Just thought it would be an interesting experiment!;)

^Now this is something that'd be very hard to do so 'cause there are so many images done by Meisel that is/are iconic. :D:)

These were all Meisel, too?

To find the others, Have you tried the Magazines forum? Just search keword Itaila or by the year and it will bring up a list which should be easy to find these issues.

^i've tried the magazines forum because i'm curious to see those eds too, but the only 2003 issues i found were june, september, october and november... i just found the july ed because i knew it was in the Vogue Italia Under Franca Sozzani: 1988 to Present thread. (i also tried to find the other two in that thread, but it seems they aren't there either)

the editorial with Julia, Daria and Elise is sooooo lovely. how beautiful..loving the intimate, soft lighting
