Recently i bought a pair of kitten heeled shoes. I usually wear flats but i love kitten heels so i tought i might give them a go.
You cannot imagine the shame and the disconfort i went trough because of them!

As i walked they got stuck between the rocks in the side walks. I live in Lisbon in Portugal and we have the most beautiful walks because they are hand made, it´s typically portuguese.
Then i started to think how this explains why there aren´t almost any people wearing heels in this city! One of the times i even lost my shoe and had to turn back for it!!! :innocent:

Every city is different but wearing heels in Lisbon is a no no for sure! :wack

oh my gosh I can see why in that picture! It reminds me of Jennifer Lopez in "the wedding planner"!

Reminds me of what happens when I see a lady walk on the subway grates in nyc..

only sofia's version is prettier.. much prettier

hehe... try the new wedges, they might not be so terribly dangerous.

i once got my heel stuck on those holemats they have on shop doorways.. and fell down, not going' there again

Im allways afraid of getting stuck in the underground mooving-steps (I dont know if its the right name for it). Im just so scared of the thought that if I get stuck there then I brake my leg, people will fall down on me... Hope this never happens to me. :ninja:

A similar thing happened to me once when I was out at a club that has wooden decks. My heel got stuck and I fell face first to the floor and broke my heel

the falling isn't so bad, it's the breaking the heel

I used to get that fear when i went down a street called bridlesmith gate in my town, because its all cobbled, its my fave street and i hate the thought of getting my heel stuck, thankfully it hasn't happened yet. Quite ironicly its the street with about 12 shoe shops on it! :ninja:

Why can't I seem to get the pic??

Neither can I

I've gotten my heels stuck in the grooves in the cobbled stoned sidewalk and the teeny gap between the elevator doors and the floor but thank my lucky stars, I've not "really" fallen down yet ...

The pavements here are really bad - very uneven & cracked. On several occasions, I have lost heel tips and twice lost heels. Still, it keeps my shoe repairer busy & out of mischief!

my friend wore stilettos to classes one day (i have NO idea why) and her shoe got stuck in the sidewalk...
and she couldnt get it out..
so two other girls walking by decided to help her out...
and after like 5+ minutes they managed to save her shoe...

it was infront of the business school's building so everyone..
literally hundreds of people walking in and out of the building..
saw.. three girls... pulling a shoe out!! :D

i've been a victim of this to it nearly ruined the leather on the heels of my shoe:( im always scared of getting them stuck and not able to get them out again:ninja: flats are so much safer imo.

Speaking of...

I have a question for all of the women who have had this happened to them - did any of you ever leave your shoe? My friend went to NYC and said that she got her heel stuck and just left her shoe there! Mind you that this was a Rene Caovilla wrap sandal (which IMO was gorgeous!) and she just left it there! Anyway, does this kinda thing happen often in NYC? Because I want to be prepared, even if that means avoiding certain places all together. I refuse to give up wearing heels because I love them and because flats are not an option for me (I'm 5'1).

yep that's happened to me. The worse is when I've walked right out of the shoe and have had to turn around.
