^well yes that's the job of a stylist (the way i imagine it....)
but sometimes a piece is very strong by itself so it could be ruining it to style it another way....
though it's more interesting to interpret it... build a story with it and with others looks....
For instance, Carine R. thinks about a girl when she shoots, I would see an outfit first.... and then would build a story around it.... and bring in it other outfits....
about Balenciaga, I came to think that stylists see this label such as an ARTMEETSFASHION label that they don't want to be rude with it....it's like an artwork, you know....
and I think the SS08 collection is a strong look enough, so you must be a really amazing stylist to style it with something else....
then you have the Look from The Seasons like H&B is doing, Vogue, too.... etc.
then you have rules, then you have the annonceurs (i really need the right english word....)
and I guess all these things get the stylists mad and annoyed.....
I would.....
and I don't know about this, and I doubt there's such debats in the fashion world...
but for instance in the art world a lot of curators are being criticized because sometimes through an exhibition they give a different view of the artwork presented just to give reason to their thematic.... (which is kind of false, IMO)
so they don't really respect the artwork
(this is a big big résumé....)
guess it could this in fashion world, though....
oops i stop there.......... i'm going totaly off-topic.........
