Also from coutorture.com (they have a video interview with him as well)

^those are from the target collection he did. they are HUGE pieces those necklaces. they're absolutely stunning but they wouldn't work for me....they would probably just lie about for me to admire only.

the first images.....WOW! i'm liking that he's branching out and working more with a textile foundation in this new one. they're stunning. they resemble patchworking and it actually gives the illusion of patchwork on clothes. i wish he would have done those kinds of similar works for the target collection because i would have instantly purchased one of those or all!

There massive! I was shocked but definitely impressed; Target.com needs to display them on an actual human being, however. The difference in expected proportion felt a little disorienting...

^you're absolutely right! i felt completely mislead by those images. i thought they would be...well...more subversive. but they are certainly impressive if albeit a bit overwhelming.

what price range are the pieces in - (not the target ones)

they are so beautiful, and the complete opposite aesthetic of my jewels.

usually they're between 200 and 300-2,000 USD. depending the amount of workmanship and the collection. he does three different themed collections a season. or he used to. a simpler more accessible line(similar to the target collection) and a more elaborate, more labour intensive collection.

I recently bought some of the Target pieces - the first necklace, the 5th necklace, and another which isn't shown...
I love them... so very much...:heart::heart:

Justin Giunta to ELLE.com
Sep 04, 2008

Justin Giunta, the man behind the line of highly wearable found treasure known as Subversive Jewelry, is going to be ELLE.com's Fashion Week blogger.

He'll be filling everybody in on the week's festivities, hopefully including some thoughts on some of the accessories we see on the runway.

He was in every photo of the couture spread of Harper's Bazaar US Oct. 08. Very cute! Insane costume jewelry with couture. I love the mixture. Will scan in a few

1) There's and Subversive necklace and also one by Tom Binns. I'm not sure which is which... since there is so much going on.

2) Subversive necklace - very hard to see

Chic Report stopped by the Hôtel de Vendôme to catch up with artist Justin Giunta and check out his latest collection for Subversive Jewelry, appropriately titled “Hard Twines.” “It’s a mix between the economy and the ecology,” he explained. “We have everything from African twine-wrapped soft settings for stones and hand-painted crystal for these amorphous castings and even castings appropriated from the $1 bill. It’s a modern direction that has the classic Subversive elements of bringing the Baroque into the contemporary and staying ahead of the curve.” Giunta recently collaborated with Gilles Mendel and Rachel Roy on the jewelry for their runway collections too. “We’re breaking through to some of the European stores that have been slow on the uptake, but we’re making sure it’s available for all these women who can’t handle the alternative anymore,” he said. As for any must-visits in Paris? “The Gustave Moreau Museum—a point of inspiration that everyone should take in. It’s the most impressive place of creative energy and creative output.”

TORY’S NEW GEM: Justin Giunta of Subversive has been named design director of jewelry at Tory Burch, with his first collection slated for holiday-resort, WWD has learned. “I have always been passionate about jewelry, and it’s a category we want to expand,” said Burch of her new hire. “Justin’s talent and handcrafted aesthetic will take us to the next level.” For his part, Giunta will continue to design and operate his own collections, including Deviated by Justin Giunta, his new lower-price line. Since launching Subversive in 2003, Giunta’s piled on, collagelike approach to design has garnered plaudits, including the CFDA’s Swarovski Award for Accessories Design in 2009 and Ecco Domani’s first-ever award for accessories design in 2008. While his position at Tory Burch marks Giunta’s first long-term gig with another house, his past runway collaborations include Chris Benz and Trovata. He’s also done a collection for Target.
