The oil crisis
"There are currently 98 oil producing countries in the world, of which 64 are thought to have passed their geologically imposed production peak, and of those 60 are in terminal production decline."The focus needs to be brought to this issue.Too often it loses out to other similar crises.Speaking out about it,even if we are not politicians,is crucial.

Hunger

'Twas this on Tables I had seen--
When turning, hungry, Home
I looked in Windows, for the Wealth
I could not hope--for Mine--

I did not know the ample Bread--
'Twas so unlike the Crumb
The birds and I had often shared
In Nature's Dining-Room--

Emily Dickinson

Hunger is not just a third world problem. It is everywhere. Even in the USA and Europe where the health problem du jour is, ironically, obesity. Outside your door, on the streets, sleeping in cardboard boxes, are many homeless people dying of starvation, malnutrition – hunger.

Dreaming about a world in which all individuals are treated equally…

Regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, everyone deserves certain fundamental
rights including freedom from discrimination, protection from hate-motivated
violence, and the right to legally establish partnerships through marriage.

Awaiting a Verdict;
Sex Discrimination

On average, women in the UK earn 24.1% less an hour than men doing an equivalent job.
In a modern workplace where women do the same job as men, it's startling to hear the differences in pay. Strong, confident and independent women are often lower paid than their male colleagues, even in 2008, simply because they are women. There have been many cases in the high court over pay and discrimination in the work place. It takes strong women to take this unfair practice to court; and start the ball rolling for change in the work place.

Pollution

"Air" from the musical Hair
Welcome! sulphur dioxide
Hello! carbon monoxide
The air, the air
Is everywhere

Breath deep, while you sleep
Breath deep

Bless you, alcohol bloodstream
Save me, nicotine lung steam

Incense, incense
Is in the air
Breath deep, while you sleep
Breath deep

Cataclysmic ectoplasm
Fallout atomic orgasm
Vapor and fume
At the stone of my tomb
Breathing like a sullen perfume
Eating at the stone of my tomb

Welcome! sulphur dioxide
Hello! carbon monoxide
The air, the air
Is everywhere

Breath deep, while you sleep
Breath deep

Deep, deep, deep, cough cough

In modern times, the issue of pollution has been pushed to the forefront, as people became increasingly aware and concerned with environmental issues. Affecting the air and water, the consequences of pollution are dire, even deadly.

Global Warming

Who's gonna tell you when
It's too late
Who's gonna tell you things
Aren't so great
You can't go on
Thinking nothing's wrong
Who's gonna drive you home tonight

Coco stands by her vehicle as she wonders about the fate of the Earth. When she drives her car, she helps global warming stir up...should she get in and drive? Think about it...you can make that difference...

Suvi Koponen portrays Sex Trafficking

You might not be aware of this, but every single day thousands of people are sold against their will, forced to give something they are not willing to give. This modern-day form of slavery is an activity which is not only breaking bodies but even more importantly, crushing spirits and shattering dreams. In a world that is so rich as today's world is yet so obsessed with economic and political rights, did the real ones - like an individual's right to be free - get lost in the clutter?

Natural Resources

scanned by helligirl

Natural resources are "naturally occurring substances" in the world; for example: minerals, soil, land, water and fossil fuels. They can be defined as either renewable resources, resources that can replenish themselves if used in a controlled manner, and non-renewable resources, that is, resources of which there is a limited amount eg. minerals.

One of the main problems facing the world today is that renewable resources are being used at a rate far too great to allow them to replenish and non-renewable resources are being entirely depleted.

Without proper preservation and control, the world will eventually run out of natural resources such as naturally occurring minerals. Minerals play a vital role in sustaining our current state of life due to their important role in various industries (eg: copper manufacturing). If we do not do more to protect these minerals, they will inevitably disappear and the effect on society will be largely obstructive and destructive.

sorry guys, it'll attach instead then ;)
