Tahnee Atkinson

what do you mean no matter how much she loses? Isn't her "shape" made out of extra weight?

She's not the kind of model I become a fan of....but I am SOOO PROUD OF HER:buzz: She's beautiful. She really is beautiful

what do you mean no matter how much she loses? Isn't her "shape" made out of extra weight?

haha.. well no, we all have a specific body structure, atheletic, curvy etc. curvy girls aren't just 'fat' in fact quite the opposite they're just born with it. its like short people can't grow tall.

Oh I saw the commercial that Tahnee, Franky and Clare did for LG the other day while I was watching TV! Can't find it on youtube though :(

For her to obtain a body to compete with the Natasha's, Vlada's and Abbey's of the modeling world would not be healthy. I'm glad she has embraced her body type and she can have a successful career there :flower:

It isn't only about weight, though, but also bone structure. I am not saying that this is the case for Tahnee, but just an example: Some people have large hips because there is fat on their hips, while some people have large hips because their bone structure like that. The first one can, given that everything else is "right" (like height, beautiful face+skil etc) become a model, but the second never will become a model because her bone structure is wrong. You can't change your bones.

tahnee was at The Strand and Harpers Bazaar fashion show in sydney!

^ yeah I do agree with that

but I jut don't think its the case here (imo, dont shoot me for it  :lol:hahaha)

Falls Creek: 10am. The morning after MTV’s annual Snow Jam – which saw Cut Copy DJs and Phrase perform free for hundreds of fans – there are more than a few dusty heads in the village (Grazia’s included). Then into the conference room (aka last night’s dance floor) breezes Australia’s Next Top Model Tahnee Atkinson – fresh as a daisy. And yes, the Perth teen still looks beautiful in moon boots.

So, Tahnee, what was your Snow Jam highlight?
I jumped on stage with Cut Copy and danced to Lights & Music! But I was a good girl – in bed by 10pm.

Have you had a chance to hit the slopes?
Yes, this is my first time at the snow and I couldn’t wait to try skiing. I’ve had a few falls but it’s really fun.

Could you have imagined being here a year ago?
No way! Eight months ago I was just a normal girl at school. I’m still normal, but my life has been turned upside down.

How are you coping with being in the public eye?
I’m still a bit oblivious to it. I don’t walk down the street and expect people to look at me. Sometimes people come up to me and want to talk to me and I just think: why? I’m just Tahnee from Perth!

Are you settling into Sydney?
Yes, I’m staying with family in Potts Point and it’s a beautiful area. It’s close to everything and my agency – Priscillas – is also nearby. Everyone has been really nice.

How is the modelling industry treating you?
Top Model taught me a lot, like how to conduct myself during castings, which has been a huge help. But it can be intimidating. The girls are always so beautiful – and there’s a lot more of them to compete with.

Your curves were celebrated on the show. Are you still feeling the love?
A lot of people say they love my body, but I know the challenges I face in this industry. I watch Fashion TV and those girls have nothing on them. That’s not what I want to be but I do have to lose a little bit of weight. But I’m going to do it in my own way and in my own time – I’ve been eating really healthily and going to the gym.

Do you have a ‘body ideal’?
I don’t really weigh myself. I know when I’m feeling great, and when I need to work more. I’m a healthy, curvy girl – that’s not going to change.

How did it make you feel to hear that ANTM runner-up Cassi had rejected lucrative modelling contracts?
You never know with Cassi … But now she’s got everything at her feet I thought she would take it on board and just try it out. But it’s her decision. It’s just a shame because she has so much potential.

What would you be doing if you weren’t modelling?
I’m not sure … I’ve always wanted to be in the industry and if modelling doesn’t work out I’ll just try something else. I’d love to do hair and makeup or something.

Do you have an industry icon?
Meeting Elle Macpherson on the show was really inspirational – she’s done so much with her life.

And plans to go back to school and finish year 12?
Not at the moment, but when I have nothing else to do I will think about doing some courses.

What’s next for Tahnee Atkinson?
I’m going to New York soon to meet with agencies as part of my prize, and I’m really looking forward to that.

Tune into MTV’s Snow Jam on Saturday, August 15, from 5pm
