Alex Perry: Tahnee Atkinson deserved model win

GOLD Coast-visiting fashion designer Alex Perry has backed Tahnee Atkinson as Australia's Next Top Model winner and has even defended his own behaviour.


"I know I'm thought of as being a bit bitchy at times on this show but I feel I am saying just what you are thinking in your lounge rooms," said Perry.

"Some of the girls are as empty as Britney's underwear drawer. They don't need to be brain surgeons but they need to think on their feet."

"This is a cut-throat business and it is not all glamour. It is hard work."

"I believe we picked the right girl in 16-year-old Tahnee Atkinson. She is absolutely perfect tall, beautiful, thick lustrous hair, great colouring and a great person as well."

"Yes, Cassi, the runner-up, was also gorgeous but just lacked a few of the qualities of Tahnee. It will be interesting to watch the progress of both these girls."

"Did you know that the final night of Australia's Next Top Model was the highest rating show ever on FOXTEL. We had Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte in Sex and the City, come to view the show one night and she said she loved it and even preferred to it the American version."

She has a gorgeous figure. She's obviously not tall and willowy like alot of models but I hardly see that as a big black mark against her?!

Tahnee CAN work as a model BUT she will not work for every aspect of modeling. I think she will do great for lingerie and swimsut, also cosmetics/beauty she has a beautiful face... Sadly not many people would hire her for hf with the body she has.

well tbh, honest, i don't think that tahnee will do well in beauty, because of her teeth.
you know, like abbey has horrible teeth, but her face is very strong and she does great.
even cassi's teeth would never be a problem because of her face overall.

and for tahnee, her body will not let her work in fashion, and her teeth will not let her work commercially

Australia's Next Top Model winner Tahnee Atkinson compared to Claudia Schiffer

THEY'RE both buxom babes able to manoeuvre a massive ballgown around a studio set with great grace but how much do '90s supermodel Claudia Schiffer and Australia's Next Top Model winner Tahnee Atkinson really have in common?

Harper's Bazaar editor Edwina McCann said despite Atkinson being criticised on the series for being a full size 10, she believed she had the curves to take her to the top.

"She is slightly more voluptuous and she is classically beautiful, she's like an early Claudia Schiffer," McCann said.

The fashion mag queen said the Perth teenager's profile fits in with the shift that is occurring in modelling circles away from stick thin girls to slightly curvier girls.

Atkinson has been signed up exclusively to Harper's for the next six months, with one of the toughest fashion editors in the business, the magazine's creative director Mark Vassalo, even falling "head over heels for her", McCann said.

She has potential but we're not convinced she's a double for Schiffer.
